As far as I know, there are eight baby seaponies to be released this year in two separate waves of four.

Toy R Us has the four from the second wave listed, but when one clicks on the listing for 'Sun Twist', one can find the second picture is of this odd thing:

What's up with that? It doesn't even appear to have a fish tail or fins...

Does anyone have any answers? I'm confused

The toy is derping with its eyes. Am I the only one who's a bit unnerved by that? A pony would be talking to it and the baby (are hippogrif young foals, chicks, or children?) would have to be like "pick an eye. I can't move them."

Sorry, I think it's really ugly, deformed and kinda creepy.

Not only do the hippogriffs  resemble big pegasus, which is weird because Has-Beens griffyns are really nice and fairly accurate, but now their babies look like that. Seriously? Are they even TRYING anymore?

Quit with the hyper deformed look already! Either make an animal recognizable, or don't  bother.

Aww, so cute! Glad to see we'll be getting baby hippogriffs too!

Still wish they'd let these babies (and Skystar) not have their eyes both looking like that, looks odd from the front.

To be fair, the baby seaponies have derp eyes too, they're just packaged facing the side so it's harder to tell immediately.

But aaaaaahh, what if we get brushable hippogriffs? Like

I don't understand all the G4 craziness

It looks really ugly to me!

i'm so excited, these look sooo cute! i've always wanted hippogryphs, so i'm really excited for this! truth be told i think the reboot g4's all look more like alpacas (? or at least not at all like horses), so i'm not surprised that these are super 'deformed' looking as well. the seapony babies have (i'm willing to bet) the exact same eye paint from the looks of it, and i think they're really cute head-on as well as to the side!

i don't typically care for g4's (which is a bummer because i'd love to be able to go to the store and buy a pony that i like; i'm a huge fan of instant gratification!), but this movie line has made me really excited! i'm tired of 'hey it's the mane 6 as [insert generic theme]!' toys; we get it, they're the main characters... let's move on please! i'd die for a gryphon brushable or something like that!

baby flurryheart has the same eyes (more or less), so it doesn't surprise me that they're going that route with the other 'baby' species as well. overall, i think its so super cute, and i can't wait until it comes out!

What is this?
It could be disappointment.

I understand they want hippogriff stuff, and I like the big action figure guy...but this doesn't look like anything at all much. I mean, aside from the horrible glaring eye issue/it looks nothing like the picture of the creature on the package.

Hippogriff:
Front half of an eagle with claw feet, long neck, eagle type face.
Back half of a horse with horse rump, hooves, legs & tail

But this little...creature...
It has PAWS on the back feet & the head is structured like Spike but with a mane.

Ok, so the 'movie hippogriffs' aren't sticking to the "real Myth" animal because they have a mane and the face is horsier and there's no real big apparent eagle beak, and the eagle feet are also much reduced to stubby 'toes'. Ok so they're 'cutiefied', that's to be expected but......the baby toy is just kind of a puppy? With a few feathers sculpted on? Why even try to say it's a hippogriff?

I mean, I really applaud them making new kinds of people.
Hippogriffs are cool! I want the action figure one! I would totally welcome brushable hippogriffs (cause if there's 1 there's got to be more) but it'd have to actually LOOK LIKE something. I also don't see how they could put that toy in the package with the portrait of the baby there right next to it and say "yep. looks the same. just as cute."
