My Punzie has had a tail cut, which I suspect probably happened due to tangles because her mane is uncut and she still has the braid (that's original to her, right?).
But when I got my Punzie she was worth about $80. Not mine specifically, the pony in general.
I traded for mine, which is the nicest way to get any pony, as it avoids the annoying currency problem, but when it went skyrocketing I am not quite sure. I imagine there were some bidding wars or something that did it. I remember she peaked around 200$ for a bit and then I was out of the community for some years. When I came back she was silly money. *shrug*.
I agree with LM, Sweet Scoops comes up less (and is nicer in my view) but it is hard to find a Punzel with nice hair. I actually don't know what mine would be worth with her tail cut because I don't intend to ever sell her, but I imagine that probably it knocks some value off her price.
Then again because her price is silly money, people are understandably fastidious about her condition.
I essentially paid 50p for the pony I traded for her though, so I don't care that much...
Mine landed on her hooves that way as I accepted her flaws and all. Even the flawed Punzies need love.

And before anyone starts shouting that I ripped someone off, I didn't. It was a rare pony from a UK carboot sale and at the time the pony in question had a parity $ value to Rapunzel
