I have some G1 ponies whose hair are kinda dry instead soft and silky, is there a way to make their hair soft and silky again or is it forever dry?

Normal human hair conditioner or fabric softener works wonders.  Let the hair soak in hot water and conditioner, then comb out the tangles, starting at the tips and working back to the roots.  If the hair is frizzy and not just dry, you can try using a flat-iron at very low temperature, working small sections at a time and being very careful not to let the hair burn.

A good conditioner and a proper brushing is all it takes.

Some colors are more likely to feel dry and reject moisture from the get go. Which isn't just true in the MLP brand.

I've had great luck with conditioner made for people hair, too!  I usually like a type that is advertised as being good for smoothing the hair, but other kinds work well too.  My preferred method is to wash the pony and shampoo the hair, give them a good rinse, then really slather the conditioner on the mane and tail and let it soak in for a little while before I rinse that out.
