Funny or awful ways your ponies have been shipped
« on: August 23, 2017, 12:44:36 PM »
I've received my fair share of awfully packaged ponies and wanted to share the one i received today and thought it would be interesting to see other peoples arrivals

Heres the one i received today. Her packaging was fine but when i took her out, it was as if she was saying "get me out of here!"

I once had a UK green waterfall playset shipped to me from overseas.  It was wrapped in a black trashbag and lots of tape.   No box.  Not even bubble wrap or paper.  Just a black trash bag.    Consequently, the bottle of bubbles broke and got the whole thing soapy and sticky.

I've gotten things shipped in cereal boxes and other food boxes before.  Someone just within the last year had something shipped to them in a USED pizza box.

An awful way a pony was shipped to me was:  MIB Diamond Dreams had the top of her box flap BENT down to fit in box!  Gee, thanks!  I pay for a MIB product and you purposefully damage the box!

Trash bags and pizza boxes and purposely damaging MiB products?  :pout: I sure hope you guys gave those sellers an earful Ashlyn and Gator.

Dunno if this counts, but I had a pony come to me that was wrapped up so much, it was like watching a butterfly emerge from it's cocoon trying to slowly squeeze and cut her out. XD

I think I've seen my fair share of cereal boxes and lots of walmart bags as packing materials. Not pony, but I did have a white plastic item wrapped in newspaper (very unhappy).

I've also had so many that were packing taped around bubble wrap so much that I was worried I would cut my ponies hair off

A mail order Stockings packed in a sandwich bag.  That wasn't a problem but the grocery bag she was wrapped in first was - the red ink transferred over to her formerly pristine white body.  -_-

Poor pony. She looks very happy to have been unwrapped and set free.

I bought some petite pony houses and accessories from Ebay  and the seller threw everything in to a plastic bag and put it in a box. Luckily nothing  was broken.

This year I had some G3s arrive in a cardboard biscuit box :P
They came from overseas too, so the writing on the box was in Hungarian, haha!

I had some ponies from Italy arrive in a pizza box. Also, a pony that was advertised as coming from a 'pet-free home' arrived in a cat food box....

My best one is probably the MOC ponies (?!) which were posted to me in a box which was also full of plush toys. These were not in the auction and the only type of packaging material included, but they were not fastened down and everything was just loose in the box. Fortunately the MOC pony I wanted arrived in the same state the auction advertised. I asked the seller if the plushes got in there by accident but apparently they weren't. I donated them to charity, so hopefully some kid is getting fun out of them now - they were Winnie the Pooh plushes, piglet and so on...

lol, amazing things you all named! :D

Funniest I had was an empty yoghurt box with a custom pony inside.
And my showstable with box... the box itself was used and taped with brown tape all over. Nothing inside but the loose stable pieces.
Oh and a MOC cut in shape to make it fit in the box (this one...).

lmao stuffed animals as packing material. I can laugh since it turned out okay, lord.  :|

The one that still bothers me most is when I bought a brand new 80s shoebox with MLP kids sneakers. It was so perfect it looked like you just pulled it off the shelf in the shoe store, box and all, just brand new, pristine.

They sent the shoe box wrapped in a brown paper bag instead of inside another box, so the brand new box got all crushed up. I was so upset. Didn't make them discount the price or leave negative feedback or anything but I did let them know I was upset. They weren't collectors so I can see in retrospect how they wouldn't think someone would want the shoe box I guess, that they'd only want the shoes, but yep, sure did.

I'm a MOC collector and thankfully I've been fortunate there to not have any horror stories.
