Watching old-school TV?

We don't own a flatscreen TV, we just have an aged portable TV that we've owned since 2003. We're not up to date with technology here! It is much to my disappointment that we no longer have a VCR, I have so many great videos I'd like to watch again.
I still remember the halcyon days of five channels and not having a remote. Now we have hundreds of channels and very little decent stuff to watch!

I had a non-flatscreen TV back when I was still living with my family, but ever since I moved out, I've had a flatscreen. My brother used my old TV for a while, but then I believe it gave up the ghost.

I've got a few that he refuses to throw out, because although we don't have any TVs in the house (save for the flat screen one we use as the camera screen) he always says he's going to use one...someday

None of the options really fit my case (I selected the spare one because I guess it's as close as I can get). We have one, in my bedroom, that I use as a gaming TV for my Nintendo Wii (all our other consoles are plugged into the main flatscreen in the living room). I play it occasionally. I would not call it a spare TV, but a gaming TV.

I think we have one in a closet.  My husband has a bunch of things in that closet I want to throw out so I'm not allowed to look in it anymore.

I still have an old little TV from 1985 - it was a special birthday present from my parents - it is always in storage but has been very useful over the years - it was in my uni digs in London (carrying it on the Tube was fun...ex boyfriends has their uses lol), it was our temporary tv when my husband and I got our first house, it was moved to hospital for my grandmother's ward bed (in the 90s) - I think it is asleep in my parents' attic at the moment! Still working - but needs a Freeview tuner to get a digital signal now!

I had the big ones for the longest time, but I finally switched a couple years ago.  The flat screens are sooo much easier to handle when you're moving or rearranging furniture.

The downstairs TV that everyone mainly uses is a flat screen, but the TV upstairs in my Mom's room is a CRT TV.  It gets used every day still.

There very likely are some out in my parents' garage. I didn't get an HD TV until maybe late 2010 IIRC. The TV I had before was a flat screen in the sense that the screen was flat, but it had a big back like the old TVs. I think I got it back in 2003.

None of these TVs are present with me right now. Everything is flat screen and HD at my apartment.

Yes, we have two.  One is a 300 lb 32 " Sony Brava in our bedroom.  Haven't gotten rid of it because who can lift it???
The other is another Sony that used to be in Anita's bedroom when she was in highschool.  Not as heavy, but equally as useless.  Both still work well and if anyone is interested, come and get 'em!  :LOL

I don't have a TV at all, but my parents have been using the same old one for I don't know how many years, and they refuse to replace it unless it's broken. Which makes complete sense to me!

The TV I had before was a flat screen in the sense that the screen was flat, but it had a big back like the old TVs. I think I got it back in 2003.

Your's was probably a rear projection TV too. They were pretty popular in the early 2000s.

We have one, which is in the playroom for the kids to watch their dvd's on. And, yes, I too refuse to replace it until it no longer works. Perfectly good enough for them to use and nice and sturdy. Our other 2 tv's are flat screen.

I agree on using things until they're broken. We still use CRT TVs and computer monitors, although we also have flatscreens of both as well. We use both kinds around here.
