2017 Total Solar Eclipse - Who's Planning on Viewing?

I know I am, hoping the weather doesn't give us the short end of the stick like it has for past celestial events.

I have a great telescope with a solar filter so normally I'd be all over this. I'll be preoccupied with something more important though, so I'm not bothered by having to skip it.

Besides, here in Florida we aren't getting totality.

I work at a library in northern Utah.  We have 800 pairs of solar glasses to hand out and I think it's going to be insane.  We've had all sorts of sob stories this week about why someone should be allowed to have the glasses early unlike everyone else in town.  I don't even feel bad telling people they had to wait until the event (as our grant to get the glasses stipulated btw) because it isn't like people haven't known for months that the eclipse was happening and if it was that important for them to have the glasses, they would have gotten them earlier.

It's at ten in the morning here. We aren't getting totality here (that's for Edmonton in 2044 if I recall correctly) but dad got some viewing glasses from work. It's going to be cool!

I am! I'm dragging out my solar scope and participating in the Citizen Scientist project! You could say I'm over the moon about it (I couldn't resist).

Not me (obviously lol) but I'm eagerly awaiting July 13th 2037 when Australia will have front row seats for another Total Solar Eclipse. If I'm still living in the area I'll be in the perfect position to observe, I'll have to get a pair of solar glasses (I think 20 years is enough time to do so).

I'm getting ready to head north of Kansas City with a friend to try and catch it (glad I live withing 100 miles  of the total part). Unfortunately there's storms popping up around the area so the chance clouds will be in the way is high. :(

On a pony related note: There's already some art appearing in recognition of the event. :P

I've been living near Salt Lake City this year; drove up to Idaho Falls last night to see totality. I've been looking forward to this eclipse for years!

....aaaand next week, I'm moving to Ohio!
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

You should get at least a partial eclipse. That's what most are getting (that aren't on the path of totality).
