We had over 2 minutes of totality here - it was awesome!  Saw the diamond ring and everything.   My cousin came up from Arizona and he got some great photos and video of it.  The neighbor had his telescope out with a solar filter and we got to look a few times before totality - could see some sunspots that way.

A couple shots I took during totality:

Lucky you were able to see totality. I had like 80% here, which was good but not as spectacular. :)

I didn't have the special glasses and where I live it was supposed to be around 80% totality but it was cloudy for most of the time. I did look up at one point just to see where the sun was in the sky and I just saw a bright spot in the clouds. I had intended to watch the tv coverage but ended up staying away from home longer than I thought I would so by the time I returned it was almost over.

It was 80% here and it actually got darker more than I was expecting. Think early morning haze but at mid morning. The library was the only one to get glasses and they had to share with two other branches. Despite days of "go here for a party...." with details. People were still lining up well past the 150 mark. My friends and I arrived at 5AM,there was one other couple that was ahead of us. We spent the next four hours guarding our spots from line jumpers. The lack of manners was astonishing.

People could learn a few things from our favorite ponies.

Man, I'm glad that people at our event seemed to be polite and didn't try to push or line jump.  I think we had somewhere around 2,000 people show up.  Though it might have helped that the police station is right next to the library and there were officers wandering around and watching the eclipse with us.

Me and my friend went to a spot near Missouri City, MO to catch it. Good thing we did because NE Kansas and Kansas City got skunked out of it by clouds. Where we were the clouds moved in not even a minute after totality ended.

One thing that's also interesting is listening to what's going on around you during the eclipse. Crickets chirp as though it's night time.

Birds started singing all around us while it was going on, then stopped once it started to get lighter.

I was in the partial zone (about 60% I think?) and it was still really cool!  I got a few pairs of the glasses at Lowes about a month ago, and it's a good thing I did because they were sold out everywhere near here the week of the eclipse!  I don't think our library had the glasses, but I know they did have a live stream of it going in one room.

My best friend and I went to the beach to watch it and it was really neat!  Almost the whole beach had the glasses which was kind of neat.  The beach was a fun place to watch it.  Then we went back to her house so her dad could try the glasses to see it.
