I think everyone has done a great job this past month.
I have to say, I've already slacked 1 day in December for not posting anything, and unless I find something tonight, it'll be 2 days in a row. Eek! Not good for trying to promote Christmas sales.

I do have a question...if anyone knows. Is this a way to use Instagram from a desktop PC (as in uploading photos / making posts)? Everything I'm finding is mobile, or needs fancy add-ons to trick the browser.

I know very little about instagram.

I have stumbled upon a temp job that could work great for me. I have 30-90 days to see if I am a fit at the business. So a $3 pay raise would be nice for at least 1-3 months. I start the 18th. I am very excited and nervous, but the hours are great and opening me up to take on more students. Sometimes these temp jobs just use you for 90 days and send you off, but it would mean no necessary second job for 3 months. Yeah. Here is hoping 2018 will be my year.

Great job to you all. No I am not done with my hat but maybe this week:p

Well done on your new temp job Crowning Glory! I hope it works out well for you.

I finally got a new job so I won't be panicking in February thank heavens. Mine is also a temp job, only 18 months.  The main downside is that it's 70 - 100 minutes drive away and I'm a bit nervous about that having only passed my test this July. Lots of upsides though. Starting on the 8th January.

Sorry Kiwi, I don't use Instagram (I have an account yeeeears ago but never posted!) so I can't help you there  :(

Yay to both Artemesia Floc and Crowning Glory on your new jobs!  :cheer: :green: :cheer:  that must be a weight off your minds - 2018 already sorted for you!

- - - - - - - - - -

So this week (after fighting my lingering cold and eating a huge Chinese takeaway at the weekend) I decided to get back on track again - 3 weeks to Christmas - let's see how well I can do. No crisps, no choc dessert, no sneaky toasts with lashings of butter... back to being good!

Started off with my porridge, water + banana followed by my pint of warm water for breakfast. Had my Skyr, fruit and walnuts for lunch, then lots of veggies, a half-portion of cheese + tomato ravioli and one scallop St Jaques (posh dinner!) along with my decaf tea + honey. Sure noticing my increase in water consumption, though!

Feeling a bit stressed today... just want to vent!

After a few tiny offers, got a better offer for the house sale!
However - it is still £20k lower than our current asking price (and £50 lower than the original start price).
The potential buyer is a cash buyer, so no mortgage for them to arrange / quicker potential sale.

Arrrgh! Do I accept?
pro: quick sale, money in the bank, ready for us to start looking for a new property in the spring whilst putting our home up for sale.

Con: £20k less money!

Stress factor: do we gamble?
Do we say NO and wait to see if anyone else will make an offer? Current market experience seems to suggest it is unlikely. Agent suggested that, for the length of time this has been up for sale, we would have expected more offers by now (maybe he is just chasing commission on the first realistic offer, though, the cynic in me is thinking!)
Do we say YES and get all this wrapped-up - but at the lower price? This option, in effect, is costing us £20k, but is it worth it for the guaranteed sale/peace of mind/cash in bank? Also - not worrying about the empty house being broken-into and also paying the extra energy bills and council-tax.

Hmmm... decisions, decisions... agent is waiting for an answer sometime this morning. Discussed it with husband and family, they have thrown the decision back to me as "my call"  What ever we decide, it will go towards our life-changing plan to be able to afford a move into a larger property, one where we have SPACE and can do things like have family members come to stay overnight etc - something our current, tiny house cannot accommodate!

Oh well, just thought I'd share my stresses with you all!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-  ETA -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Decided to go for it!

Spoke at length with the estate agent (who rang me and went into a long spiel about how unpredictable the sale was going etc until at the end I said I had already decided to sell it, hehehe)

Ooh, hard choice, but I probably would have gone ahead and agreed to sell, too.  Now you have the cash in hand and can use that for a decent down payment on your new home/property (even if it is 20k less than what you wanted), which will give you smaller house payments in the long run if the money doesn't fully cover the cost of your new home/property.

Yay for selling your home!

I'm trying to force my motivation to get back into gear (at least with posting).

I got a nice boost to my confidence with the shop - I got a sale on Saturday. Things have been so quiet since the summer, was starting to feel like "what's the point". But my communication with the customer was really pleasant, was a nice pick-me-up. I'm excited for them to get their order. They bought 2(!!!) of my mailbox ornaments.
