Can't find the new movie toys

I've checked Toys R US again and still they only have a few movie toys including the extra large Twilight Sparkle animatronic toy and a lot of older toys on the shelves. Walmart was resetting and putting out new pony toys but I still haven't found either musical shell sea pony.

My Target finally has them. I found them on Sunday. They had rearranged the toy aisles and put out what they had for the new season.  I got the baby seaponies and they had just a handful of other things.

According to mlpmerch all figures of Songbird Seranade are going to be Target exclusives with the lone exception of the Build a Bear one.

All mlp pirate themed stuff is going to be Walmart exclusives.

They went big in the exclusives this year.

I went back to Target and a lot of the movie toys were already gone. They still had most of the larger ponies like swimming Pinkie, singing Songbird and Twilight and Spike. The non transforming Mane 6 sea ponies were gone.

so my walmart decided to prove me wrong. I went and checked and cause we NEVER got the new stuff on actual release time I was NOT expecting anything new.

to my surprise we had the sea ponies and pirate twilight and pirate pinky 0-0 I couldn't afford them but oh man my walmart actually has new stuff!

I dropped in on the far-away Target today and found a similar display to the picture above, quite plundered but still had some stuff left.

After seeing the Magic of Everypony set in person, the skinny legs look pretty good in this size and the bubbleheads don't look so bad really with the "show accurate hair"...it was fun to see them up close.

Seeing the swimming Pinky in person, I decided against her for now....in person she doesn't look as nice for the hand as i thought, but maybe later.  I did buy the cloth tail changeable Pinky, even though Fluttershy's tail colors are better (might be a good fluttershy to buy later I guess, even though she's worst pony haha).  Seems the tail is just a skirt with a spring clip sewed in, and under that is a mostly-normal, hip-and-shoulder-jointed figure.  I like skirts on ponies, and posable joints, so:

I also got the big glassy-eyed Skystar merpony, though not the shell version.  I used a 1" wire hook to secure my Twily big merpony to the wall, looks much better than standing on her tail:

I didn't plan for a second one of these and I can't figure out where I have that much wall around here anyway so for now I posed Skystar on Twily's hook:

This size Skystar is big thick and heavy like I wanted, but they did skip her nose freckles and her forehead is too big...ug, good thing I didn't look too close at her in the store or I might have hesitated to buy her.

Oh I also saw the Twily and Spike duet which isn't as good as it's supposed to be at ALL, has three short sayings and the one together with spike just plays every third time whether they're touching or not....I thought it was supposed to be context-sensitive, and this as well as the Sia pony have sound clips far too short.  With today's tech, it's kinda inexcusable not to have longer sound samples in there.  Oh also it isn't Tara Strong's voice either, and it's not a good as the animatronix Twily's voice (the one I call the Starlily Twilight, maybe I should call her Twi-Lily?).

Oh I got her some batteries today but there's not much point in putting them in...I know what to expect from a toy review.  She's OK, but she's not as good as Starlily who is much softer and more luxurious, better-proportioned and has much better sounds.  Maybe I battery her up anyway....I got two packs because my Star Lily is low on juice so she's getting a fresh set too.

Oh yeah I forgot to add, I found the Nightmare Night BBs there too, but I had a look at the card and I don't get it:  while the packages are all dressed up in the first Nightmare Night art, none of the ponies have costumes???  what's the point?!  I wanted some Nightmare Night costumed ponies, cmon hasbron't.

Hrm, now I know what you guys are talking about with the Nightmare Night BB, I have seen thm a lot here. Was there an issue with their distribution or something? <--barely in the loop.

I saw a big plush-but-somehow-animatronic movie related Twilight in Smyths the other day. She was up way too high for me to look at in detail or take photos of so I don't know what her deal is. She looked a bit creepy to me...
