Has anyone tried a MLP roleplaying game? (Or is anyone interested?)

Just wondering if anyone had tried either the official, Hasbro-approved MLP roleplaying game (pencil-and-paper, not a computer game lol), or adapted a different system, or made a homebrew system, etc?  It's something I've always wanted to try!  (This is a link to the G4 official RPG: MLP: Tales of Equestria.)

Also, I just bought a source book called "The Cartoon Action Hour", which is firmly based in nostalgia for 80s Saturday morning cartoons and I think it would also work really well for any gen of MLP.

Definitely interested, just haven't got the books/kit yet. Other stuff keeps coming up that need the funds more. Someday! MA and I are subjecting the boys to a MLP DnD session .

I ran an MLP-themed D&D session at last year's Pony Fair. It was based off 5e rules and based off the origin story of the Twinkle Eye Ponies.

I was hoping to do another one this year, but it will have to happen next year instead.

I want to play the G4 one so bad! All my friends think ponies are stupid, and there's only two girls in my friend group I could convince to play.

That 80's guidebook looks awesome, I have a buddy who does an AMAZING skeletor impression. A He-Man themed session would be perfect.

I'm kinda interested in playing the G4 game, but I'm afraid to bring it up because even if I could convince my friend group, we tend to get up to some...fairly terrible depravity. I just know that in three sessions Princess Celestia would be dead and Equestria would descend into civil war or something, LOL

OMG, how did adapting D&D to MLP go?  (I'm especially interested in 5e because I have the handbook for that, lol.)  That sounds awesome!

All of my players were new to D&D but said they had fun and wanted to do another session this year. I brought my grid to use as a map, dry erasers for making said map, and bought some blind bags to repaint as minis (they're almost EXACTLY the right size for standard D&D grids, but some do fall over). I also brought some actual D&D minis to stand in as the enemies. Naturally, I also had a LOT of dice and character sheets work mostly the same.

Since the campaign was G1-based, I gave Pegasus ponies the choice between flying or walking as their move, Unicorns could wink their move distance once per encounter (uses go up as the characters gain levels), and Earth ponies were given 2 extra stat boosts. We had a fighter, rogue, mage and I played the cleric, since our 5th member couldn't make it out to the Fair.

As long as you ignore the impossible physics (how DOES a pony nock an arrow, fire a bow, and still manage to talk all without opposable thumbs?!) it works fairly well! The Jewel Wizard lost spectacularly and the Heroic Party found all the jewels needed to give the Twinkle Eye ponies their eyesight back!

I've been thinking of opening up the next game to more than just my tester group, which would be at the 2018 convention.
