Just opened up a flickr account, how do I post pictures?

So with all of the BS going on with PB, I just opened a flickr account.  Can someone please walk me through how to post a picture on the arena?  With PB, I would paste the link, delete the URL (?) and voila, the only picture I wanted seen popped up on my thread or post

I just got done reading about what happened to photobucket, what a mess! I wonder who could have possibly thought locking people's pictures up for ransom was a good business practice. Flickr is pretty easy to use once you know where everything is!

To first upload the picture hit the cloud with the arrow in it thta's next to the search bar at the top of the screen
To get to your pictures first click the "you" button in the top left corner of the screen. It should be next to the flickr logo
Once you're in your camera roll, click the picture you want to post and look towards the bottom right of the screen. You'll want to click the middle arrow that looks like it's twisting (it'll say "share when you hover over it)
Once you click that click BBCode in the pop up that appears and that's the code you'll cut and paste here! You can even resize it right in flickr!

If you don't want to link back to your flickr page delete the last line of text in the code, that will leave you with just the image code!

I don't use Photobucket to store my photo's, only opened an account so that I could post here. So no risk of losing any images for me. And I haven't tried to post since The Event happened. So I don't really know what, exactly, they have done...

However as it appears that PB cannot now be used for posting, I suppose the best thing to do is delete everything off my account and have a try at Flickr? Is there any reason why we have to use a third party to do this and cannot upload direct from our laptops/PC's etc?

yes I am tagging on here to ask how I am to post photos??  Sorry for asking like  a tech noob but I don't do much cloud-stuff or FB etc.  so yeah

how do we post here now?  Is it direct from the PC? but than is the arena given a copy to hold and then how does that work with space constraints, if any, for maintaining?

No, there is still no direct upload to the Arena itself. It's not a feature we can offer, as that is primarily what killed the last forum (too much load on our servers). All pictures still have to be hosted on another site online (Flickr, Facebook, etc) and then linked using the IMG tags, same as you did with Photobucket. It's just coming from a different site.
