I have Pavane vol 1 and haven't read it. I am still finishing my manga collection by the artist. There were like 12 series that Tokyopops demise cut off for me.

I've ordered the entirety of the Pita-Ten manga on eBay, so I'll start reading those when they arrive. They're beat up, but according to the seller are still perfectly readable. I've seen its anime before but I guess they made a few large changes when adapting it, so it'll be fun to read it as Koge-Donbo* originally intended the story to be.

It's such a shame because Koge-Donbo* is my favorite artist, too. I'm trying to work on getting my hands on all of her works, both her major published stuff as well as her self-published doujinshi works. I mean of course I'll still be buying the remaining Pavane for a Dead Girl volumes in Japanese at some point (I think it'd be fun to own all of the books of hers that did get put out in English in both English and original Japanese... just for collection's sake), but I won't be able to read them. I can't imagine holding my phone with the Google Translate app up to the books would get me very far....

I absolutely love that Koge-Donbo* makes her own doujinshi! Many are fan-made but it's awesome when the original mangaka is like, "Um... here's some stuff from my imagination that my publisher would NEVER approve or print."

I also read the English translations of manga since I can’t read Japanese. Right now my favorite manga series that’s still ongoing is Yona of the Dawn. It’s been hard to wait patiently for the next volume to be released in English since the last volume ended on a cliffhanger. The English translation is several years behind the Japanese so it’s hard sometimes not to run in to spoilers.

I have all the volumes of Takane and Hana but have yet to read them.

She began doing doujinshi some years before she began doing professional work, but still never stopped putting it out once she became a professional!

Absolutely no word of a lie, I started learning Japanese because I wanted to read the Fushigi Yuugi gaiden novels and the only translation was German (-.-). I jokingly said that it'd be quicker than waiting for an English translation.

Fast forward 12 years. I've read the gaiden. Guess what? Still no translations

I am seriously going to start rereading Furuba's manga. Since season 1 has ended now and season 2 looks like being next year, maybe spring...I will have to crack open the volumes again. The anime cannot leave me with a teaser like that and expect me to ignore it, dammit ><.

Maybe at this point I should just learn more Japanese in order to read Pavane. I've already learned a bit back in high school so I have some prior knowledge...

My bookstore didn’t have the new manga books I wanted out on the shelves on Tuesday but did today.

They had 3 copies of Yona 20 but 2 of them were already damaged.
