Here are some new winter pictures! ^.^

First one is from December 5th. Last time I saw the sun. It's around noon and it's just above the treetops. -20 degrees celcius and the sun above the river. To the left you can see snow vaporising in the sunbeams. The red huts used to be boat huts. Now there is various businesses there. The one furthest to the left is the hairstudio where I cut my hair :).

Beldarna, :iconclap: wonderful, wonderful! :iconclap:

Oh, you have leaves on the maples and in my yard the oaks have leaves!  :wow: Let's see if they stay on the trees until spring.

A very decorative Christmas tree. Here in our village, the big spruce tree has only colorless lights, and in general, Christmas trees in cities only have colorless lights. :pout: It would be nice if, in this country too, they put more colored lights and a star on the top!

I already have winter pictures on my laptop, but I don't have time to put them up here. Maybe before the eve I will be able. You have wintery day photos and I have night photos.

Thanks!

I think it's fascinating how the leaves have not fallen off, we've had some storms already with heavy winds and they're still there! Like how?!

I think the colour of lights depends on the city. Where I grew up we only had those warm yellow lights. The tree on the square only have red and yellow lights.. Or it had last year I've not seen it this year.

I wanna see some night piccies!

Not the most beautiful picture but I used John for scale to show the snow embankment we have right now. This was on the way to the cinema to see Dune 2 (the cinema is in the brick house with the tower, although the tower is part of another business. It was built as a firestation waaay back.) We have it liked this almost everywhere now, causing traffic to be interesting to say the least.

Man, I can smell that dirty snow

Gorgeous pics otherwise though. I've always thought Sweden was a beautiful country :)

Thanks :).

Lol at the smelly snow. We have so little exhaust from the cars so it looks dirty but it doesn't smell at all :):

Beldarna, Wonderful pictures! That last one not so much, hahah, that dirty snow is a very familiar sight in Finland too.  What's more, the dog's poo is revealed under the melting snow!  :X In the spring, besides the street dust, it's the worst! Why don't all dog people care to collect them away! :gah:

Even now I don't have any photos ready for here, but I can write a little about nature.

Here where I am now (my spouse's apartment) there is a forest right next to it. We had the front door open for ventilation late one night and I was listening for owls. I had just said to my spouse that it would be nice if a fox or a cat appeared here at our place, then almost immediately a scream started to be heard from very close by! :wow: It was a fox! I ran to get my phone from inside and recorded the scream. It's March and foxes are in heat (or is it rut?) If I had never heard a fox scream before, I would probably have been very scared, it is so wonderfully creepy. I put the recording on the instagram side, but the sound is quite weak. Even though it was very close my phone didn't record it properly. The content of the video isn't great either, because it was dark and there was just a big pile of snow in front of me.

:fox:

Last night I got to listen to a distant Tawny Owl (Strix aluco).

The white ibis have been hanging out in "my" yard (the patch of grass nearest to my apartment). I tried to get a pic but something spooked them and they all flew off.

Aster and I also witnessed a bird fight last night! Two mourning doves were going at it. The loser flew away while the winner ate whatever it was they were fighting over. I think my downstairs neighbor has been putting out birdseed.
