What's wrong with my babies???
« on: June 20, 2017, 04:27:12 PM »
Hi, I'm reorganizing my pony collection after a looong time in plastic bags, and this strange dark stains appeared on three of my newest ponies: 2 G4.5 and a G4. They were all pristine when I bought them
Neither of them was in contact with water or any liquid, does anybody know what is and how can I fix them? I tried acetone and it did nothing....

Any help is well appreciated.visitors can't see pics , please register or login

It looks to me like something rubbed on them and stained them, like ink or something.  Was there anything in the bags, or did they have any print on them?

Just other ponies, but of the three that got these, one of them was in another bag entirely. And none other have them. I tried taking them off with acetone and soap but nothing worked...

Some have numbers printed on their legs, but some stains are in legs that don't have any print on them.

Did you have them near any fabric?  Did the plastic bags have ANY printing on them?  Did you ever display them on a colored surface?  Were they ever in your purse?

This looks like dye transfer of some kind.   Sunfading should help you out.

It sounds almost like thepaint 'stamps' on their legs transferred onto the bag, then back onto the ponies?

I'm not entirey sure but ink stains sound as the most logical answer. A friend sais she doesn't know if sunfading works with this kind of ponies because of the hard plastic they are made of (comparing to G1), that maybe it will fade also the plastic. What do you think of this? At this time, I'm putting all my hopes in sunfading (after a good bath with oxipower).

Thank you all for you help, I'll keep you posted on this
