R.I.P. Adam West
« on: June 10, 2017, 10:38:36 AM »
According to msn Adam West died, he was 88.  It doesn't say the cause just that he died peacefully surrounded by his family.

I remember watching the Batman TV series when I was a kid, but not when it first came out, that was before my time.

Edit, so I googled and apparently he had leukemia for a short time and he died Friday.

It's sad and shocking, in my opinion he was the only batman, no matter how many people played him in other movies.

Oh no! I hadn't heard; that makes me so sad... I grew up on reruns of Batman '66. :( Adam West had such an inimitable style... He will be missed.

2017 has been a lousy year... :(

Adam West seemed like such an awesome man. I wanted to meet him at Steel City Con a few months back, but I was busy that weekend and didn't get to go. I remember them saying that Steel City Con would be his last (or at least one of his last) public appearances at a convention, and my guess is that this was due to his illness. Such a shame.

88 is still a very long time to be on this Earth, so while it's sad that he has passed, at least he lived a long, full life.

His portrayal of Batman will always be iconic, and I'm gonna be the weirdo that says I loved him as Mayor Adam West on Family Guy, not to mention the countless other characters he voiced on different shows throughout the years. He will be missed.

RIP Adam West. I grew up watching reruns of the old Batman series and loved his exaggerated self-portrayal on Family Guy, which will not be the same without him. He was my favorite supporting character.

It's really sad. I remember when I was little, I loved watching his Batman series. Many years later, I enjoyed seeing him in his Catman role in Fairly Oddparents and I also enjoyed the episode of King of Queens he guest starred in as himself. He was a really good actor.
