Hi all! I just wanted to keep you all in the HasCon loop.
A discounted rate is being worked on for past Pony Fair attendees. They are trying to figure out exactly how they are going to manage this. Not sure if there will be a discount code or if I will send out an email to those in the Fair ticketing database with a link or what. This is all still being worked out, but there will be some sort of discount available.
We will have our own "reseller/collector" area for ponies. I am waiting to find out how much space/size/ how many tables/ and cost of these spaces will be, but hopeful that they will be somewhat comparable to past Pony Fair pricing.
I've been given the green light for planning presentations/ activities/ contests and customizing a VIP experience for MLP collectors.
A Hall of Fame dinner is in the works for this year. Again, costs/ number of attendees etc. is still being worked out.
Also, in the way of presentations, what would you like to see? Or better yet, do you have an idea you'd like to present? Please let me know via email summer@mylittleponycon.com
I won't be planning any of the kids/family areas because that is under a different "umbrella" but they are happening.
This meeting was very encouraging for me because before this there were so many unknowns. Although Pony Fair is not "officially" happening this year, I want you all to know that it will look very much the same inside of HasCon. Please know that the goal is for collectors to be happy with the event and for it to contain the elements of Pony Fair (plus many more.) They have listened to all of the concerns that I've presented them with and are more than happy to work with me to find suitable solutions (Ex: ticket costs, collector sales tables, etc.)
My one suggestion would be that you go ahead and book your hotel rooms or figure out accommodations if you are planning on attending or think you might attend. I've heard that they will fill up fast.
On a personal note, I want to say that Hasbro has supported the MLP Fair for years and helped us evolve into something we couldn't have imagined when we first started out. They believed in my vision and continue to support the collecting community. This year as they embark on their inaugural year of HasCon, I am honored to support them and their event. I don't believe that we've seen the end of Pony Fair so please don't despair. Pony Fair isn't going away. The collecting community isn't going away. We have the opportunity to be a part of something BIG and exciting this year and I urge you all to take part in it.
