Blue police cap

Can you solve my mystery?

I bought a pony lot this weekend with a million jumbled in pieces of other 80's toys.  There is a plastic blue police cap that is pony sized, but could be barbie?  I have never seen a police cap for ponies, and it does not have ear holes.  Any clue if this is MLP or not?  Glow worms?  Or something else?

Maybe a Potato head kid's accesory? Does it have a peg?

Possible it goes to the Fry or Nugget characters from McDonald's? I know they had a lot of different outfits.

Edit: Looks like the Fry characters had the peg to hold hats in place for the top of their heads too. Didn't remember if they did or not. Doesn't look like the Nugget characters did though and I found one on eBay wearing a blue police hat and a little police belt.

Darn.  I was hoping it was a pony item I was unfamiliar with.  I could probably use it as a pony hat though.

I have one of these!  Cut holes in it when I was a kid so my ponies could wear it - do be careful, because the plastic is /thick/ on this thing and it was not an easy task.  Challenging enough that I still remember modifying it.

What about the Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy in the Wonderbolts 2-pack set? They have little cop-like hats, no ear holes

I had that happen to me the other day, too! Went looking up some dolls I collect on eBay.. oh look, there's one I've been eyeing for a while, for a good price.. yup. Ebay is so distracting...
