Ticket and booth prices finally revealed
« on: May 23, 2017, 02:45:51 AM »
Well, prices have finally been posted.

http://hascon.hasbro.com/

Regular ticket prices are ok $165 for general admission for adults for all three days 60 for a 1-day pass.  Kids it is $75 for 3 days 30 for 1 day and that is from 3-15.  Free under 3.

Vip, however, is $600 for adult, $200 for 3-15.

http://hascon.hasbro.com/exhibitors  (booths)

BUT the vendor booths are just out of control prices.

Artist booth $350
Vendor booths are starting at $1000 going up to $5000.

So I wonder what this is going to do as also it was promised that MLP fans would get something special and nothing is listed on the website.  I mean this is just ridiculous that it took almost 2 months before the convention to get the info.  I had signed up to get an email that the info was released and never got an email and had to find this on my own.

I feel this is a fail on Summer's part for handing over the fair to Hasbro as she could have had someone else run it for one year since she was moving.  I love Summer but this I see it as it turning into a failure letting Hasbro take over.  Hopefully next year she can take the convention back over and it can go back to the way it was before.  Then we can go back to a regular more affordable prices and more notice for prices and dates or at least something like that.

It was never confirmed that the MLP Fair is being rolled into hascon, so maybe we should wait and see what fair staff say, first?

I mean, fair staff specifically said that vendors would be happy with the set up this year, and I am *sure* they know prices like that would NOT be pleasing, haha!

My guess is that Summer was not ALLOWED to do a MLP Fair separate since the MLP Fair is an official Hasbro event
*edit to add - I believe the Transformers con and GI Joe con were also rolled into Hascon and aren't happening separate

that being said, there is SERIOUS Sticker Shock here
the booths do include some passes, but are still crazy expensive
and you have to apply for them

I'm not sure anyone I ever saw at pony fair booths could make enough to cover that cost. There are many with quite a lot of pony stock, but starting at $1000 plus travel and hotel? Maybe tickets? I hope it wasn't my last day of seeing so many beautiful multicolor ponies in one place.

Well, I'm still all fingers crossed that something has been/is being worked out to keep the MLP Fair as close to what we know and love as is possible. I hope Hasbro understands the concept of why we do this every year...  I hope we have a separate space "just for us". I hope we find out soon whether or not there will be any special pony pricing or at least more "old mlp fair people" related info.

Patience, patience.

Would be nice to know if those are the actual prices for us....would actually be nice to know what the vending booth/ticket prices are anyways- people need to plan for this. If those are the actual prices, count me out. That's beyond ridiculous.

Yes I'm sure she would love to do that with comments like these.

wow, i just freaking knew it !!!! i knew it it was going to be "con" prices... i seriously feel cons just take advantage of fans

i am curious to know if they will have special pony fan price tickets? but i suspect they will be 600 just like the ones for magic the gathering and dungeons and dragons..

also curious it says artist table 350 and then booth 1000,,,  if there a difference? is the artist one not for selling?

also just noticed in the 600 dollar ticket it says access to "hall of fame dinner"  and you get the hasbro goodie bag, is this the only way to "maybe" get an exclusive >?

in regards to fair staff.... its my understanding that legally they cant do anything because they in part work with hasbro

Yes, all of these events are official Hasbro sponsored fan conventions. They are not "owned" by the organizers, and Hasbro has a say in each event's planning each year.

Ah well, once we got Hasbro's involvement at a fan convention, this was only a matter of time.  :-p  It should have stayed a fan convention...

I feel this is a fail on Summer's part for handing over the fair to Hasbro as she could have had someone else run it for one year since she was moving.

Summer has only ever done everything in her power to make this event the best it possibly could be for us, and I would never describe her decisions as a "fail."

There is a lot that, for legal reasons, cannot be released or revealed at this time, and it's far from being her fault.
