That's great your cats dispatched it with no injury-We actually have a semi-feral cat who is a great hunter usually and loved trapping (and eating) bugs. He used to do this thing with moths (or little flies) that had gotten into the house where he'd press them to the window with his nose and then SNARF them up *yum yum!*Well, he did that once with a hornet. He got a horrible sting on his sensitive little kitty nose- it hurt him so bad he peed his pants and his nose swelled up terribly- I felt so bad for the guy.Ever since then bugs that "buzz" (even large flies) make him a little nervous and he has never trapped another bug with his nose... I think he has PTSD! I guess all that to say- hornets can definitely hurt your kitty so watch out!
