Are any of these Disney dolls anything special?
« on: May 18, 2017, 09:12:47 AM »
{Cross-posted to MHArena as well}

I'm doing some long-overdue sorting of my doll hoard, and I found these Disney girls. I know Disney Princesses don't usually have a ton of value, so I was going to just donate them. But a couple of them are a bit different from the usual dime-a-dozen ones I come across, so I wanted to make sure they're not anything rare. :)

There may be more to come; I know I have others, I just need to find them. XD

EDIT: Okay; of the first batch, all but Elinor, Jasmine, and the DS Merida are headed for Goodwill next week. :) If anyone here wants any of the ones set for donation, please let me know and they're yours! I'd only ask you to pay whatever it costs to ship them to you, which I'd guess would be around $3-4 for a single doll and probably around $5-6 for up to four dolls.

I found some more Disney girls at yard sales this weekend, so on to Round Two!

Ariel #1
^ No brand markings at all, as far as I can see. She's about the size of a Mattel Skipper doll.

Ariel #2
^ Same as Ariel #1.

Aurora/Sleeping Beauty
^ Her eyes have fading paint over them so they "open" with cold water.

Cinderella?

Also a couple of disembodied heads. XD Thinking Jasmine is more or less garbage, but not sure about Belle.

I can't speak for many of these, but...

Merida's mom was a relatively limited release.  She was around for about a year after Brave's release, and thus a little harder to find (I'm guess maybe $5-$8 if you have her outfit.)

Jasmine is vintage Mattel and, again, probably worth about $5 if you have her clothes.  Up to $7, complete.

The Frozen dolls are Mattel releases (the ones you'd find at Target/Walmart/etc) and aren't worth very much.

BTW, do you have their clothes/costumes?  That will bring up the values, if only by a couple of dollars.

Good luck selling.  :)

Thanks, Scarletjul. ^_^

I believe I have the clothes, or at least the dresses, from one of the Mattel Merida's, and her mom. The others I don't think I have.

I agree re Merida's mother - especially here in the UK she is not so common.

I ended up buying her second-hand off a certain auction site (fully clothed) and she was quite a bit more expensive than her daughter!

The two Ariels are Tyco dolls and are from 1989-early 90's. The Aurora is from 1990 or 1991.

Hmm.  They do look like that.  If the Ariel dolls are from Tyco, they should be marked on the back of the neck or on the back?  I'd have to dig mine out to double check that.  Again, that would make her vintage and might have her fetch a few more dollars if complete/dressed.  :)
