Pony with head/body not the same colour...
« on: May 13, 2017, 10:04:12 AM »
Hi!
(I'm not sure if I had to post this here or in the custom section)
I've got a pony who doesn't have his head the same color than his body, so I was wonderin' if they were any tips to repair this.
Thanks a lot to you!

As far as I know there is no fix for this. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me has some ideas though....

There's no way to fix it unless your really good at matching paint or dye.

Yeah I was thinking of dye, but I don't know how to use it without coloring the eyes too.

In the factory, the heads and bodies were often made from different batches of plastic, so this variation is normal!

Yes I agree here it is a problem we have seen all the way to the present generation.  There are certain ponies prone to this almost always.  The Rockin Beat ponies quite often have this issue. I have also noticed I have trouble with certain purple ponies with head and body mismatch.  There isn't a way to fix it. Dye is a problem because over time it will begin to naturally fade.  Whatever part of the body was darker will remain a bit darker in that fading process.   I learned this with a doll I used dye on.  She was perfect when I finished her, but 12 years later her head remains a darker purple and her body is now starting to lighten up.  I don't recommend trying to use dye of any kind.  Dye on ponies will not last well over time.  Age does wonky things to plastics.
