G1 Dance 'n Prance hair grip that didn't come with a DNP?

I somehow got this hair grip as a kid but it doesn't seem to match any dance 'n prance ponies and I've got all the hair grips I should have for the ones I've got.

Does anyone know if it came with a UK Comic or something similar?

H-uh. It's not on the wiki. Looks like someone took the one from the kitten-and-teddies set and gave it the hair to Songster's clip!

I'm pretty sure that those clips did sometimes come with the UK comics, although I don't know if that one in particular did.

I don't know the answer but if it's this, Lady G might, as she was cataloguing gifts with the comic.
I have that clip too and I had Songster's clip as a child, so I always get them mixed up. For that reason I can't remember if I had the blue one as a child - but I know I have definitely had it come through my hands a few times. I had many of the comics as a child so it seems a good call. Unless it's a variation on the Perfume Puff Palace accessories (because allegedly there were some, but I haven't ever looked into it)

I kept all my perfume puff palace accessories in the cupboard, well, those that fit anyway. But this grip was kept separately so I doubt it would have come with mine.

I think we have already concluded that it's not a customized clip.
The blue clip part is a bit darker than any other blue clip.

Also, the mystery clip is not even that rare or anything... I see it now and then in ebay uk pony auctions. So whatever it came with the origin is most likely the UK.

At one point I thought I should save every auction picture I spotted where the clip was included. So that later I could compare them and see if the lots had anything in common. That way, over time, it should be possible to see a pattern.
But then I haven't really bothered to do it after all, I think I only have 2-3 pictures or so saved.

I know lol yes all UK mixed pony & accessory lots but I have no idea what they came with so I'm no help at all! I'm thinking perhaps a UK comic or maybe the UK boxed Player came with this version!?
