Is it better to sell premade customs or to accept commissions?
It depends. some people buy things that catch their eye. others want something specific. I've bought both and made both. (as a customizer my rule of thumb is to always make what you like and not what you *think* will sell)
• If you accept commissions, how do you price them? Do prices vary on a case-by-case basis or is there a flat fee?
I've seen both. I've done both. Name recognition as a customizer, skill level, and the market that likes your style all play into pricing. I currently have a base price which can be added to for htf baits, sculpting, etc
• How do you ship sculpted customs?
IN A BOX!!!! with bubble wrap, tissue paper, peanuts, etc. I've even double boxed a super fragile one before. Make sure no part is directly touching the inside of the box
• What website(s) do you sell the most customs through?
etsy
• Do most customers prefer nylon or sculpted hair?
nylon, but again, different people like different things....
• What generations sell best?
depends on who you're marketing to. G2 sell the least. g1 and g3 sell best to old school mlp collectors while g4 sell best to newer fans (and older).
