Can anyone help me ID a 90s robotic dinosaur?

I'm trying to help a friend of mine figure out what this toy from her childhood was. Here's her description: "It was a remote controlled robotic rex-type dinosaur. The remote was wired and looked like an egg. The dinosaur was mostly black/metallic colors, had red lights for eyes, and roared."

She's done a lot of Googling herself and I poked around a bit but neither of us could find anything.

Hi Taxel!  No idea if this is the right one but this is what I found with google image search? One of the photos shows it with glowing eyes and it appears to have a wire attached.

She added another detail: it didn't have "skin", it looked very robotic.

Ack, I hate when that happens! Sorry. If any of the guesses are right I'll definitely post here.

One of the other guesses that looks like it might be promising is the Rex Fighting Tekno Dinosaur, but of course my friend went to sleep or something like a normal human so I don't know if that's right.

Normal humans are so weird. It's 8am and I haven't been to sleep yet at all.  ((actually on my way to lay down for a nap now... hopefully they'll be good news on the ID!))

And right Tula?! This is gonna drive me nuts! She rejected all of the guesses so far. I have no idea where else to even start looking. I wonder if it was a knockoff/failed toy or something older, maybe the 80s?

If anyone's curious, here's the other "not it"s. After the first two she added that it didn't have skin. Zoids were also guessed but no picture was posted.

Its been found, she thinks! Apparently this looks a lot like it. It came up under a Google search for Zoids but this is the only picture she can find and no name is attached. Does anyone know what its called?

Giving this a little bump for you, hopefully someone will know more! I don't really know what zoids are so I'm not going to be much help now. I tried reverse image searching and google recommended zoids dinosaurs and dragons.
