G1 shoes bled into pony, advice asked
« on: April 08, 2017, 05:27:18 AM »
Today I got hold of a TAF Yum Yum with pink hair and wearing the Hearts & Candy outfit. So at home I undressed her for a clean up and saw that the red shoes have bled into the pony.
How can this go away, if it goes away. Not sure if sunfading helps since its not summer yet over here.
And I was wondering if this happens a lot since I have never seen this before and most of my ponies wear the white shoes.

I think sun fading is the best option. If that doesn't work, i guess you can just try to cover it with thin coats of acrylic paint. Remember to dilute the paint with water!

I have had this happen with my red shoes from that outfit too :( Thankfully the pony hadn't been wearing the shoes for very long and I was able to wash most of the color off. But I have become very reluctant using those shoes since then. If the color can't be washed off sunfading is probably the way to go. But remember to cover her pink hair.

If you go with painting her legs white again, PLEASE mark her so people know. I had a baby that someone did this with, and the paint came off when I was cleaning her up.  If I'd known, I would have been more careful what I cleaned her with.

Thank you for your answers.
I do have sort of an eraser spunge. And will also give vanish oxy a chance. Just the feet ofcourse.
If that doesn't work I think I will go ahead with sunfading and covering the rest.
I am not a fan of painting to cover up marks, I leave this kind of clean up to a new owner.

The staining is dye - sandpaper (which is what 'magic' erasers are) nor Oxyclean will not take it off because it's inside the plastic, not a surface blemish.  You'll have to wait for some sun and try fading it out.  Painting over can make things /worse/, I'd never recommend that as a restoration method.
