I've read that these are sought after?
I know nothing about them... What are they worth?
Anyone needs/wants them?

How do you recognize the different waves??

You can look at numbers on their hooves. You can google the longest number and add "my little pony" to the search and the results will be for that wave. It's like wave's serial number I guess. For example b1729 stands for wave 12. Early waves didn't have these numbers. Some waves have the same number.
I don't think they're sought after. I have like a dozen of each. Every blind bag lot I buy has them. They were released in most waves and even as singles. General rule of G4 is that mane six isn't rare.

Depends on the wave, condition and if the pony comes with a card or not. Loose without card ponies from newer waves are 1-2$. Together with cards they can go for 3-4$. Rare ponies like Princess Twilight Sparkle, Princess Luna/Celestia/Cadance, ponies from sets, Fluttershy on her own mold and pretty much any pony with an original unique mold are 5-10$ with cards. Same for wave 2 ponies - they're Europe only exclusive.
