Running Press vintage ponies Firefly and Glory

I found replicas of g1 ponies made by Running Press, at my Local B&N, and have had Firefly and Glory in my collection for a while now. Aside from a coloring pack and a cup (both found at my local 99 cent store) of the g1 ponies, these Running Press ponies are the only g1's I have. (Sadly)

But what I would like to know is- since these were released in g4's era, do vintage collectors consider these Running Press ponies (and any other merch with g1 ponies on it) as g1's or g4's?

What are your thoughts on these Running Press ponies, Firefly and Glory, who are both smaller than g1's baby ponies?

Are such tiny ponies worth their $10 pricetag? Why do you think they're so pricy, when g4's 3.5 inch ponies are half that price?

Who do you guys think Running Press will release next?

i have the glory one! shes very cute! I believe they are considered "g1 reproductions", or something entirely different because they aren't full size like the 25th anniversary repros. I have heard many people calling them "miniglory" and "minifly". I would not consider them g4s, I personally consider them g1 reproductions.

i do not think they are worth their hefty price tag. though, i think you're paying for the name, the mold, the brand, the tiny booklet, the brush... etc... i held off on buying one for a very long time because i didn't want to shell out the cash for one. but i finally caved and she looks so cute next to my fullsize glory.

im not sure running press is intending to release any more! glory and firefly have been out for some time now.

Wish they would make some more! They have been the best thing out in a long time. Glory is so cute she makes the current blind bags look like junk!

How wonderful! I have mini firefly and glory. As for the question of category... I believe they are a sort of reproduction pony, albeit a smol pony.

And the price? Jebus! It's much too high for what it is. But a booklet, pony and brush, in a nice fancy looking box... still not worth the price tag.

I wish they'd make more, Firefly and Glory are so cute.. I don't think they will tho, since it's been so long since Glory was released.

I wouldn't consider them G4 at all.. I consider these and the Dollymix ponies as "G1 retro".

They're G1 Retro Merch. It's not about the era they are in but the character and style.

 Fakiefly I can't stand, but my daughter and I have Mini Glory and she is just darling. I hope they make more. I'd love to have a collection of these little ones going.

If I could guess at them making at least two of each species plus  Big Brothers;

Pegasus: Firefly and Surprise
Unicorn: Glory and Windy
Earth: Posey and Applejack
Big Brother: Tex and Quarterback
Sea Pony: Sea Mist and Wave Dancer
Flutter Pony: Morning Glory and Rosedust
Winger: Cool Breeze and Starry Wings

Though I honestly don't see them doing flutters and wingers, perhaps if the wings were sculpted.

You will love her. It's like they put her toy in a shrink ray. The artwork and booklet are also very nice bonuses. ^^

That wasn't conceptual art, though. It was a photoshopped photo of a regular G1 Firefly. As far as I know we had no actual photos of her before she came out.

I bought the Firefly one for my friend who loves Firefly for a birthday one year.  She loves it.  I don't have either of these ponies personally but I hope one day they'll make a Majesty one. 

I like how the Glory one looks very much like a G1 Glory figure even if it's smaller.  I didn't like the Firefly one but I'm sure the art book made up for it.

I love these guys!  I have two Fireflys (one I bought myself and the second was a gift the next week  ) and one Glory!  My extra Firefly hangs out in my backpack. 

What I'd love to see is one of the CP ponies made in this line.  Especially Snuzzle!

I have Glory and would love to see more ponies like Glory. For an Earth pony Bubbles or Applejack would be cute.
