What are your thoughts on G4.5 ponies?

Oh, I like how that Pinkie/Luna package has the updated graphics from the movie - Pinkie's front-on headshot isn't a completely round shape!

I like them, and I'm glad Hasbro is taking a step in a different direction. I really like the new poses and the new wing sculpts. They have so much more personality than "disinterested pony standing" and "disinterested pony standing with leg bent."
I like their longer, slimmer legs and cute round bodies, too, and unicorn horns that actually LOOK like unicorn horns!

The material is obviously different from the original G4s, but at LEAST the head and body are made of the same plastic this time, and it does seem to me that the hair is lower quality than before.

BUT.

At least Hasbro is trying. I feel like they're using cheaper material as a way of testing the water to see if these new figures make an impact in their sales. I'm hoping that they do and they change their tune to include these poses permanently, and introduce more unique characters as well.

Yikes, the new Luna has the same headmold as Cadence. The body looks great, but the head is overinflated, haha.

I have not bought any of them yet so i can't judge much.
I do think the regular ponies are ok looking. After years of the same pose i welcome something different. (Getting serious G3.5 vibes now. After the core 7 i really welcomed them. Let us hope it will work out better for these.)

I'm not a fan of the princesses though. Especially Celestia who looks like she is made out of noodles and has an inflated head.
I don't care much about "show accuracy" but the princesses actually look less accurate than their original toys.
Celestia used to look far more elegant and regal than her current toy.

On the other hand i do really love the seapony princess and queen. Looking forward to those.

I found them on offer in Tesco's yesterday, so thought 'what the heck' and bought Rarity and Lyra. I actually really like them! I thought I wasn't keen on them, but once I saw them in person I was won over by the cute. They have such happy, excited expressions. Also Rarity's glasses are adorable, and I like that they come with a plastic accessory rather than yet another comb. Of course their hair is a bit crazy, as G4 hair so often is, but I've managed to tame it a bit. I wouldn't want hundreds of them, and I do feel that full-priced ones are a bit expensive for the size of the pony, but I certainly think Lyra and Rarity are a nice, cute addition to my pony collection.

I haven't seen the princesses in real life yet, but to be honest I've always felt that toys of the princesses look weirdly malformed, so I'm not really surprised to hear they look strange.

I've bought a few...  The Celestia set, the Cadence/SA set, and a few of the singles.  I'm still of mixed opinions.  I think I've just accepted them since based on everything shown at Toy Fair, this is what we're getting for at least the next year.  They sure make me miss G1 and G3 though.  I liked when the majority of ponies were actually pretty to look at.  One reason I love my G1 so much is that they're just very soothing to me to look at.

I bought the Lyra one for the blatant instance of "shipping fuel" on the back card , but probably won't be getting any more because they just look too weird  to me. I wanted to get the Cadance and Shining one just for Flurry Heart, but then I found a knockoff Flurry from China so I got that (saved a good chunk of money too).

i like the new molds a whole bunch, very dynamic and fun without restricting play!

i'm so disappointed in the upcoming luna though! i was so hoping for a show accurate brushable of her, but its just more purple instead of navy :-(

i think the cadance pose would be tolerable if she wasnt bald on the top of her head.

I may already have replied to this (apologies if so!) but I really don't like them. I will not be buying them at all as I don't like the new shape of their mouth/nose or their legs. They just don't even remotely look like ponies anymore to me , at least.
