What are your thoughts on G4.5 ponies?

They are not G4.5 to me either.  That said, I think they're cute, but no new characters!  So yeah, no real reason for me to buy yet.

If im completely honest I dont even like G4 and i find these much worse. I just dont think ponies need to have oodles of character thrown at you. The fun was always collecting them all and just enjoying them for what they were, multi coloured horses of love haha

I am on the fence about them, i would say they will grow on me and i will in time like them. I never liked g4 when they came oit either but now i do, true love takes time

I'm fine with them. I was at first put off by the open mouth ones but once I saw some with their tongues painted I liked them better. I'm mostly looking forwards to the translucent sea ponies and the boy ponies.

My main issue with them is that the mane is like human hair, it's only on the head, and doesn't extend down the neck like horses' mane do. But that's one of my issues with G4 in general; they don't look ANYTHING like actual ponies.

When I first saw them I hated them. They seemed really distorted to me and they creeped me out. You know what? I love them now I'm just so happy we have ponies I don't really care what they look like. Ponies have changed so much over generations and I love every pony that exists! I just realized no matter how they scare me at first I will still love them one day. That's how I've grown to like other generations actually.

G3 does as well.

G3 is as close as g1.  All MLP are stylized.  But up till G3.5 they did all have longer necks with proper manes.  I'd say G3.5 is where we started seeing more "human" head/necks/hair.  G4.5 is just more obvious about it than early G4 because the necks are smaller, emphasizing the largeness of the heads and the lack of a real mane.

I like that they have dynamic poses- don't really love the huge heads.

Some of them are pretty cute- but I have no need to buy any of them. I wonder if the kids like them better than G4?  The lack of different poses with G4 was ridiculous...

I like all the new poses.  The hair isn't great but no worse than where G4 left off.
I'm bothered by Rainbow Dashs single-card-release pose because her back legs are spread so far apart.  But in general I like them!  Hoping they make more non mane 6.

Some people are calling them that.  I'm ok with either term.  I suspect that discussion on that will go back and forth for some time to come.

The real question is going to be what happens if Hasbro decides to redesign them again and FiM is still going.  Would it be called G4.75?  Reboot 2.0?

I love their look, they're so cute (well, they approach my Pony art style so I can't denied that I like them)
but seriously the quality is horrible, their hair are greasy out of the box, no even smooth with the conditionner and they're unbrushable
Plus, the one I bought today had a some defaults, I don't know if I'm just unlucky or if a lot have the same but ... I don't think I will purchase an other one
