Oh boy yeah are Pokemon Centers dangerous. When I found out about their existence I vowed to visit Japan and make a Pokemon Center my first stop. However, if they don't have Rattata merch then I will be very disappointed. Rattata is my favourite Pokemon and he doesn't get enough recognition!

I haven't seen Rattata, but with the new Alola version he will probably appear.
I feel the same about Vileplume (Kusaihana) and Bellossom (Kireihana). Grassies are often overlooked.

My Ratata is in the highest percentage of Ratatas.

I went back to the Kyoto store yesterday to buy my sister a present for finally getting her PhD confirmed (yes, she's as mature as I am ;)) and so I took some pictures for anyone who is interested. They were really low on the floppy tsumtsum type characters - I think those are really popular as they only had a handful of Absol, Zorua Gardevoir.

Hiroshima and Tokyo both have different figure statues. Hohou is one of the Kyoto mascots, I think. The kimono-clad Pikachu are only available in Kyoto, but the little one in Japanese dress is available in all the stores; it's part of their pokemon of the world collection (you can see the Statue of Liberty is the American Pikachu, and there's a Dutch one, I think a UK one, etc)

So anyhow, pictures are here - this is the link for the whole folder:

But here's a taster ;)

Warning - the images are large on the link list because basically I'm too lazy to fight my horrible PC to resize them ;)

Thanks for sharing pictures!

I'm a pikachu fan, so yeah, I would be absolutely doomed if I walked in there. I'd buy all the current easter stuff... and the gummy pikachu.........*__* Things that I wish were on the USA pokemon center webpage. bah.

I am drooling soooo much over your photos, Taffeta! Pokemon Centers are one of the reason I  would love to go to Japan for a (mostly shopping) trip.

We do?

Okay the UK needs them. How do they expect you to be the very best if they don't have any in your home region?

We do?

We have 2 vending machines in Washington, and the Nintendo store in NYC (Which USED to be a Pokemon Center). BUT, we have the online store, which is great. Unfortunately we don't get all of the stuff that's released in Japan. u_u;

I agree w/ you about the Kuttari plushies (the Tsum Tsum-ish ones), they're adorable! I've got a few and I'm so tempted to just get them all XD

(And it's so nice to see another Oddish line fan ^^)

Ahhh the stuffels are super cute! dunno on spelling of it's name on the fly... The main reason I want to visit Japan is Disney Tokyo, Food, and a pokemon center. Otherwise UK is still top of my to travel list. Sadly both are expensive to visit.

The UK is a ton cheaper for someone from the US to visit at present, thanks to Brexit taking 40 cents off the value of each pound. Sigh. But that's another matter.

Every time I go to that store there's something different. Today it was Ditto-ed pokemon en masse ( basically a whole lot of pokemon merch of different characters but with a goofy Ditto face).

Depending on what you want to see UK is cheaper, but overall Japan is cheaper in my budget with the things I want to visit. Vs UK which there are many more things I want to see. Majority of my family history is all over UK so I'd probably want to check out a few cemeteries/libraries etc for research. Where in Japan I have less of a tie to so less things on the bucket list. Though I think I'd gain like 15 lbs going to Japan just from their food haha.
