I've had some weird train experiences lately, but yesterday was one of the rudest people I've met on the train for a while.

So when I travel, I have to be near my cases otherwise I will forget them and leave them behind (which causes chaos).

I always try to book a seat near the racks for this reason, but this trip home my usual seat was taken so I had to book another one. These are priority seats for disabled people BUT they are not exclusively for disabled people, it's the kind of thing whereby you move if someone more needy comes along, which is fine. But I need to be near my case, so I'm really limited in where I can sit on these trains.

In any case, because of this, the seat I had to book was the window seat and the aisle seat already had a booking. I don't really like travelling next to someone else but I can deal with it.

Anyway, got on the train yesterday. There's already the woman sitting there. She has her stuff sprawled all over both seats and is reading her book. I politely ask her to move her bag so I can sit down, because I have the seat booked.

She looks at me, then says, "there are plenty of other seats free."

Now, I've booked that specific seat, so her saying that is already pretty off, but I explain to her politely that I have a disabled railcard, and I need to be in that seat to be by my case.

So she gets all annoyed then like I'm being unreasonable, and basically shouts at me to sit down then...then she knocks her coffee over, she swears and glares at me like it's my fault, and eventually gets up so I can try to sit down. She's still all over my seat space, and it's really really awkward.

Eventually she decides to go move to another seat where she can dump her stuff all over the place. Which made me quite relieved.

It ended without escalation because I basically refused to argue with her or rise to her snapping, but it did make me feel uncomfortable. To begin with, if I have a specific seat booked, who is she to go tell me to sit somewhere else so her BAG can have my seat? Secondly, these are priority seats and I have a priority need to sit there. And thirdly, having any kind of confrontational conversation with a stranger is not the best thing ever for me. Travelling is stressful enough without meeting someone like that before the journey even begins.

It's not quite as bad as the time I was made to move from the disability area of a train to make way for a bike, but you know...it's getting there.

Not a complaint really, just something a littke funny with a complaint  :P

Its really hot in the UK, too hot... Some may say i am allergic to the sun as when it gets to temepratures like we are seeing this week i break out in Prickly heat all over my body, it looks horrible so i cant wear shorts or a dress but apart from that it causes me little bother.
Im not the only one whos complection has changed this week however.... My Mirror Mirror has her symbol constantly activated because of the heat, she isnt in sunlight either so it must be just the warmth! I hope it doesnt affect her too much as her symbols are perfect with no flaws... :(

Another hot weekend here, last weekend it was 103 and 105F. Which translates to overnight temps in the low 80sF, not much of a cool down. Tomorrow is supposed to get 104F, uggh.

My bathroom was torn up all day because the toilet was getting fixed. The place is one giant dust ball and I so want to clean but can't have the windows open. It's bugging me! >_< Stay cool everyone. :hot:

Joining the club to complain about the heat! I was hoping to avoid it and stay cool, but my room is south-facing and the windows take up about half of the outer wall, so it's basically a greenhouse in here.  The layout of this stupid house has the kitchen and bathroom facing away from the sun - not places to sit and chill out. I have to go out into town as well and people round here are ignorant enough on a normal day, they get worse when it's sunny for some reason. Urrgh. >_<

Complaining about weather is a basic human right :D

True that, especially in England! (That said, I think it might be more of a cultural more for us.) XD
Continuing the weather complaints, the heat drove me to the evils of ice cream and even though I let it soften up a bit first, it still made my teeth hurt. I'm fine with hot food but anything too cold and my teeth are just like "No! Stop that!"

I think here it's a legal requirement :)

It is hot though. It is not quite as bad at home as it was in London last week but some of my plants look tired because of the sun and lack of rain/water.

I guess this is that mythical thing other places call 'summer'.

Too hot! I feel drained, baked... got 2 fans on in my room, semi nekkid, still too warm *sigh*

I reckon my ideal weather would be warm + sunny during daylight and cool and light-rain at night to refresh everything.

I've had some weird train experiences lately, but yesterday was one of the rudest people I've met on the train for a while.

Ugh, what a nasty woman, a pox be on her!

Yep, weather sucks. It's been so hot and dry most of the year so far. Now that's it's started storming everyday there is massive flooding. Also since it rains in the evenings it smells like rotten vegetation during the day >_<

The gulf is in turmoil too. Riptide so bad it's killing manatees.

I spent today at work with no fan and no air conditioning. It was 97 degrees Fahrenheit.

My country played today at the soccer world cup. The entire mall was dead, I think I had one paying customer during the whole game. The store opposite showed the game on one of their big screen tvs and people passning stopped to watch but no one bought anything. Needles to say this was one of the most boring and uneventful workshifts I've ever had. On the plus side we won the game.
