My smile is also bird related

Outside my bedroom window is a large tree. There used to be an early morning and dusk bird that would sit in it and squawk. It wasn't all that pleasant a sound. Well, for the past three days or so, the bird has moved to another tree nearby. I can still hear it but what has moved into the tree by my window are a group of Mourning Doves!

I got to listen to them cooing and hooing this morning. It was very nice.

Mourning doves are so lovely!

And the thing that made me smile today was accidentally making a slightly rude cake. I've done madeira cake in a loaf tin several times before and it's always risen in a neat arch, but for some reason this time, it rose in two arches with a neat line down the middle... and it rather looks like a butt.

The package I figured was delivered to one of my neighbors was under the chair on my balcony. I didn't look there yesterday and it was in a much smaller mailer than I thought it would be. So now I'm enjoying the smell wafting from my new scented soap!

Stayed indoors all day, made cupcakes, watched Sing & then a few Murder She Wrote episodes!

My kid said she had the best day today, she cannot explain why except to say she felt no blues

I watched Shrek tonight. My box recorded it as a suggestion. It's been years since I last watched it. Still fun. Still love that dragon.

Snow, -20°C, the sun is shining... it looks like February!

And my rye sourdough is rising beautifully

This is the third or fourth batch using the sourdough starter I made after Christmas and it's getting more active every time, currently looking very promising!

It amuses me how just a few years ago I only had one song in Japanese on my iPod and now there are a lot more since I got really in to some amazing animes. 😀

The thing that made me smile today was the Resident Evil 3 remake, particularly Jill's no-nonsense warrior attitude (she always has been my favourite) and actually being able to finish a horror game without getting absolutely mullered about 700 times in the process. Apparently what I perceived to be a stellar performance wasn't that great though; my finishing rank was a C. The RE series is a harsh mistress!

I had an extensive eye exam today. Everything is the same as a year ago and it's all good

My degeneration of my nerves hasn't gotten any worse and I passed the glaucoma test 100%
