There was a huge egg in my carton of eggs, and it had two yolks! It was so good. :hearts:

Also, I'm sitting on the balcony, looking at gilded trees and a clear blue sky (rare!) full of common swifts, with a nice summer breeze, listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, while looking forward to a delicious dinner that my husband is preparing. What more could I ask for? :P

Spoiler
I FRICKEN LOVE THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. :smug:  SO. MUCH! :joy:

I've finally brought myself to start working on three old to-do lists that have been lying around for years, the oldest dating as far back as 2014 :frolic:

Made some progress in the garden today, so I'm one step closer to getting my view from the bedroom window back, rather than seeing just hedge all the time. Also got a good workout as I'm doing it all with hand tools, so I've entirely earnt the right to crash out with a cup of herbal tea, watch documentaries about old technology and bask in the refreshing breeze from the fan.

My phone made a funny noise... turns out I won a pony on EB with a speculative low bid! A nice surprise indeed  ;)

Also - up at 4am today due to the dawn sunlight waking me up (thin curtains).

Due to the current UK heatwave, and our house being constructed in the 1970s out of thin plasterboard and hope, it is waaaay too hot to sleep upstairs. Decided, last night, to set up a "camp" in the cool lounge and my kid absolutely loves it. We had stories and played music into the night before she fell asleep there - as I did too, hence waking up from the light of the thin curtains!

Didn't put my early awakening to waste - went for a run around an awesomely deserted lake (it was ALL MINE!) and felt so happy all alone under the dappled shade of the trees.

Afterwards, and for the rest of today, I have had a sense of "happy", I think the run endorphins had a chance to kick-in!

There are two frogs that hang out on my window in the light from my lamp. Being very smart froggies, they've learned this is a great place to catch food attracted to the light.

Several days ago there was a big storm in the area and the frogs disappeared. I figured they hopped over to the swale to find mates while the weather was nice for them. I didn't think they'd come back BUT tonight they're on the window again in their usual spots! I was so happy to hear the "splat" sound when they jump on the glass

It's official - you are a legitimate Boffin!!!

It's still early in the morning but I am smiling at how fun it was waking up after our second night at our downstairs "campsite" which has access to the big TV and fresh coffee served by my husband!  XD :snicker:

Finally got the last of the series 2 Cutie Mark Crew that I needed to complete my set.  Just waiting for the last of the ones I ordered from Amazon to come in so I can see if I got the right extras for some customs I want to do...

I painted some flowers on my white phone case, and now you don't notice how yellowed it is, lol! It looks much nicer.

Well noticed. Pic theft is a bad bad thing.

Today's my Dad's birthday.  <3

Playing Rime has made me a very happy camper today; the environment design in that game is absolutely incredible. It's beautiful to look at but the real substance that makes it so compelling and fascinating is the layout of each area, with all the little secret places tucked away, using parts of your surroundings to solve puzzles, winding paths hiding just out of sight and rooms that change to reveal hidden areas once you've entered them. I've been fascinated by setting design ever since I was a kid, and exploring those surreal temples and gardens has really helped to reignite my passion. It even helped me to make some small steps towards getting back on the horse with my art - just a few small sketches and ideas, but it's a step in the right direction.
