What made you smile today?

Three things.

One - I put in an academic application and screwed up, was alerted by one of my references, thanks to his advice I was able to rectify the screw up. Yay!

Two - I get to spend some days in London this week. Yay!

Three - our courts kicking political rear as ever. Yay!

And there's a fourth, I hope - a new episode of DnA which may or may not (but hopefully!) have a scene in I really love from the manga. And though the quality of DnA's animation is not brilliant this season, I still want to hear the voice artists perform it. Because when I read it originally I laughed out loud. <3 Miyuki trolling.

Given all that, I don't even mind that it's tipping it down with rain.

I was searching on AliExpress for new Beanie Boo owls and came across one that I hadn't seen before. Sometimes the factories put "oddity" designs up for sale on there that aren't official releases, and I have three or four of them in my collection.
I bought the new one straight away, and went back to check the listing for more photographs and I couldn't find it. I messaged the seller about it and they said it was a one of a kind, and they'd only made one of that design. And I'd bought it! I might have an owl for my collection that no one else in the world has!

This is actually yesterday’s smile but I ordered a couple of things from Amazon and since I don’t have prime the original delivery estimate was for next week. However I got an email that my items will be here sooner.

I watered most of my plants over the past two days (everyone but the orchids gets watered Wednesdays, Thursdays the orchids are watered, but I didn't have enough room-temperature filtered water so some had to wait until today) and I posted up-to-date photos to a plants forum. I'm told that a few are really healthy, which is fantastic!

It's Monday! I love mondays! Today is my day off! Also, we're going to our favorite chinese restaurant for dinner. That means no cooking!

Today I finally got back to going through (some) of my notes and went over a section of a text I want to translate into English. And when I read it through in the Japanese I actually found it really easy to understand.

That may not seem like a big deal but this is not modern Japanese, it's mediaeval Japanese, and it's been about a half year or so since I last translated any of that - maybe longer - so it's a relief my brain hasn't gone totally rusty.

I bought a used book on local history cheap and in a good condition at the pawn shop down the street!

I finally got the courage up to dye my hair blonde and I absolutely love the result!

Watching OVA Ciel in Wonderland from Black Butler and omg I was roaring with laughter.

It's nice and cool today with a chilly start. That allowed me to wear my favorite coat when I went out, which gives me some shape that I um... don't naturally have enough of. 

Also, I just love the feeling of natural cool air in the house. It fills me with joy!

I got some of my porch decorated for Halloween, have all the candy i need, plush is good to go, I just need to get goodie bags done.
