Thank you everyone :D
Unfortunately my academic field is super competitive and specific and we're about to Brexit, so it may be a while before I get anywhere in the job market that's what I'm looking for.

But I am determined to fight on :) It's all an adventure, right?

It's an ongoing eternal hell which began 3 years ago with the vote and is stilll...not over.

Ask me again in November. Maybe I'll know the answer. Or not.

...Going back to good stuff.

I don't buy MH very much now as I'm not a completionist with this line and so I had most of the dolls I wanted and those I didn't are out of my price bracket. I'm actually going to sort and downsize again so I have a perfect collection of favourites that I can store effectively when I go home, so I've really not been buying dolls at all for some time now.

But today at the carboot sale there was a box of dolls including many MH and EAH. And in that box were Gloom & Bloom Cleo and Catrine, two of the dolls I was still looking for if by some fluke they showed up. They were £2.50 each and both have most of their accessories as far as I can see. Quite happy with that as I had basically given up on finding Cleo in the UK and her ebay prices are stupid.

Feelin' excited....

After a tough spring/summer and abandoning finding a house that we want to buy, one came up locally that seemed to tick a lot of our boxes - so I went for a viewing today!

Structurally it appears OK (just viewing, didn't smell any damp), just needs the usual cosmetics (new laminate wood flooring downstairs, carpets upstairs) and a neutral paint job (some very funky turquoise going on in one room, a pretty colour but too dark).

Owners have lived there for 30 years and have kept it well, but, being of an older generation, their tastes are different to mine, hehe!

Oh - no downstairs toilet - gotta plan getting one installed. Kitchen is pleasant but design-wise not to my taste, bathrooms, again, may be 10 years old and perfectly adequate but would need a refit to bring it up to date - all depends on money etc.

Oh, look at me - already planning what needs doing, my husband hasn't even seen it yet.

Maybe we have the buying-bug again

School starts in 2 weeks, once my kid is settled there I can get on with seeing what we can do!

Who knows - could we be putting our house on the market + buying a new one before the end of 2019? Not gonna rush things, we'll see what happens...  :P

I went for a walk by the harbour in La Rochelle today and ate Moules Mariniere at a bistro. I smiled about half way down the second glass of wine.

The family cat had to be taken to the vet today to check out an injury. During the exam it was discovered that she is actually a HE. We went from silently worrying to laughing out heads off  :snicker: We've had this cat for years and it took three vet exams to realize this.
And as a bonus he is going to be completely fine!

I wrote a comment on my favorite bands instagram and they liked it AND wrote an answer to me. I didn't think a thing like that would mean so much but I am litterarly floating high up in the air of happiness right now.
