And it's snowing now, we had nice cold weather all week so I hope the snow stays longer then the ice.

Setting off on a drive to a shop that I have never been to, far away and not getting lost 
Oh and meeting friendly, helpful staff there too

Doing a little bit of tidying and finding a missing Hello Kitty fidget spinner that my kid had lost for aaaages - she was so pleased to have it back!

Last night we had a fantastic Pakjesavond (Sinterklaas)! And today it's just the perfect winter/Sinterklaas atmosphere.

Had our school Christmas fair + my kid visited Santa in his grotto - the school really made a lovely "set" with dark cloth that led through the darkened classrooms, past magical fairy lights and illuminated reindeer... then to Santa and some older kids dressed as elves! It really set the mood...

...I even switched on our out-door Christmas lights for the first time tonight!

Finally being able to invite more campers to my campsite in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Came home from work and found that my boyfriend had redecorated our bedroom. It looked really nice.

So there's this woman I've always kind of liked in band class, and this evening she randomly offered me a ride back to my apartment after a late rehearsal. I know it really means nothing at all, but...

Got a Chinese Nightmare Moon fakie ages ago, that I took the wings + symbols off; turned her into Nightmare Rarity this afternoon and now my kid is having a great time role playing with her + her other ponies (hmm, supposed to be her bed time, though!)

Had a German test at school today, where my weakest classmates got 15 extra minutes to do it and help from the teacher. At first this felt unfair. After all, do we not live in a capitalist society where everyone gets the same opportunities, and if someone fails to take advantage of this, they suffer the consequences? But then I remembered that school isn't really about equality of opportunity or the survival of the fittest, it's about helping students to learn as much as possible, even if some inequality is required to achieve justice. Classroom socialism for the win

I got a Wii from goodwill a couple months ago, but it had no controllers. Got four from eBay for a great deal and the finally came to day! I have gotten a couple of games and they are so fun, I'm so happy I got this to work after waiting so long for the controllers!

This is kinda sad, but whatever. I work with the elderly, and a husband and wife were separated this week when the husband passed after a long illness. The wife hasn't taken anything but nutrient shakes since he passed, and only because she literally had no choice (it was that or go to hospital and go on a drip) but this morning, I finally got her to have a cup of tea and a biscuit, and she seemed to be a little bit better. They'd been married 50 years, but he wouldn't want her to give up just because he was gone. She's gonna be okay, and that made me smile.

I just interviewed a new hire that sounds promising. that is enough to make me happy, as I'm losing two employees after the holidays. but the real kicker is his name.

his name is Alucard.

his last name is just as extra, but it's so specific that I couldn't share it in good conscience haha
