Going to rehearse my jury piece with my piano accompanist made me feel so much better about it. Working on it solo made me feel like there is nowhere I can breathe and cutting out notes to breathe/exhale felt like big mistakes and much bigger than I thought.

I also wasn't certain I could hold the piece together, but I did!

I just interviewed a new hire that sounds promising. that is enough to make me happy, as I'm losing two employees after the holidays. but the real kicker is his name.

his name is Alucard.

his last name is just as extra, but it's so specific that I couldn't share it in good conscience haha

I admit I let out a little fangirlsqueee! Seriously, that is so cool! I wonder if he knows?

I'm going Christmas shopping today and it's snowing  :frolic:

Edit: It's still snowing several hours later, and it's making me so indescribably happy I need to say it twice :frolic: :frolic: :frolic:

Meanwhile, I'm happy that it's not snowing yet.

(Mostly because I'd have to shovel it.  )

I hung out with my friend today, which is something I don't do often enough. We had a great time just chatting and taking a walk in the park.

Went to change my old rear car tyres today, had a 45 minute wait.

Sat in the reception with 2 other ladies + we all starting chatting - it became lively, funny and the time flew!
Oh and half-way though I sold my house  (took an agent call while waiting there).

So, a productive lunch-time, celebrated with a steaming mug of tea and cheese/ham/pickle on toast when I got home *treat*

I got to see the sparrows at work, all fluffed up, they look like little puff balls, and they call to me as well.

For the first time, my mom and I successfully went shopping at the mall with my dog in her stroller.  I have a note saying she is my Lupus support dog, but we were still nervous and worrying about her barking.  But, it went quite well.  We are both very happy and looking forward to doing this again. Because she is still a puppy, I can only go out if my dog is with me or if my parents take care of her, so this means I now have more freedom. :)

Watching Good Morning Britain, Richard Arnold, and Kate (can't remember her last name) did the core challenge that was shown on Strictly Come Dancing last Saturday. Let's just say that it was so funny to watch.

If I can find the video on YouTube I'll post it.

I know you're not supposed to care too much about Christmas presents - the joy of giving instead of receiving and all that - but my friend gave me a present today. I haven't opened it yet, but it feels soft, and knowing her it's probably a pokemon plushie. I want to open it so badly, can't it be Christmas eve right away? :silly:

I made straight A's for this semester! This is ashamedly the first time this has ever happened in my entire life. Given the way lessons and piano class are graded a bit tougher here than at other institutions, I know that I earned those grades, too, and that makes it better.

I also got to get my bassoon back out and go play at a mall Christmas bassoon ensemble deal. I've been playing it in for years, but it's a little more special for me now that I've switched to oboe, and it's an opportunity for me to get to play my old love.
