What made you smile today?

Within Temptation had a live show for us on Instagram yesterday evening as part of distance socialising and I am still flying above the clouds in happiness. Sharon is so sweet and funny and it was such a nice thing to do for us. She gave a chilling performance of Ice Queen which I just loved. I got goosebumps allover.

I was walking to work via the canal this morning and saw a grey heron standing on the towpath, less than half a metre away! It just casually side-eyed me and then carried on studying the water, which is fair do's.

Herons are lovely We get them here too, at the local ponds.

So the whole world situation is not funny at the moment, but one of my closest friends is Indian and currently working in Mumbai. I have obviously been watching events there as well because of that (also not funny in the slightest, may I emphasise).

HOWEVER in the BBC's article was this image, which, despite the seriousness of the whole thing...may have made me smile.

I found a minidisc full of music from the Silent Hill series, mixed in with some Coheed and Cambria, which I listened to while walking to work and enjoying the little bit of snow we got this morning. It was a rather atmospheric commute!

They certainly are! I love how herons have such a stately presence.

I bought two packs of beautiful summer napkins today. Red, with flowers.

I have a huge weakness for pretty napkins.

I made some homemade treats for my hamster and mouse. The mouse, Kovu, is still asleep but Loki was awake and is enjoying it!

My dog Honey barked at the solar light waterfall decoration that was in the greenhouse. My brother had to move it.

I like coloring in adult coloring books but haven't colored in a while. Last night I downloaded some free coloring pages and started coloring. It was so good to be coloring again.

Pretty sad day today but a few minutes ago my aunt called me. We chatted a bit and I kep hearing a rattling noise o.0 I asked her about and appearantly her partner was sewing masks in the background He just had one finished and she sent me a pic of him wearing his prototype mask Lol, it was soo cute seeing him smile so proudly under the mask!! Made me smile to!

Learning about button quails has made me very happy today, they are just so precious!

Our little bundle of joy (aka not so much a kitten anymore) has had such a high frequence on her meows that we've never really heard them, we've just noticed her opening her mouth now and then. Now they're down to a level where I hear them and they're so cute! She's quite a talkative little girl.

I had a really good lunch today of tomato soup with croutons, and was quite happy for it.  I also skyped with a friend I had not heard from in a while, and everything is good with them, current situation considering!

My cats were sharing a fresh bowl of dry food, eating side by side. That's so rare!
