There was a report on the news today that said "Scientists have found that goats are drawn to people with happy faces." 'Nuff said.

I saw that! <3

Third supervisor didn't absolutely rubbish my thesis draft. On the contrary he thinks it only needs a few more months work (as opposed to a whole year). He's very blunt with his criticism, so that's a huge boost for me.

Also pulled out my article draft from last summer and decided to take a chance and roll with it. It might not get anywhere, but you never know unless you try.

And met one of the people from the office in the department I'm hopefully teaching again this year. Not only was she really happy that I was going to be teaching again, she also settled something for me that I was wondering how to resolve.

And my supervisors seem to have moved forward in approving my continuation status to the Doctoral school two weeks ahead of schedule, which hopefully means I'll get reenrolment infos soon too.

Finally brain feels as though it's moving back towards academic stuff after a really crazy summer of poop. My brain is happiest when it's not dealing with poop.

Apparently there's a theme park in Devon called The Big Sheep! I need to find someone else who is as nerdy about ungulates as I am and we can just go and geek out about sheep all day.

The little girl at the carboot sale the other day, keenly selling her toys! I love when parents let the kids take ownership of stuff like that. Firstly, it proves the kid is fine about selling the things, and secondly, it teaches them stuff. Obviously her parents were watching over her, but she was clearly really proud of being able to sell me ponies. She even wanted to go find me to tell me she'd found another pony - but fortunately she didn't do that, and I went back to her stall...

In any case, I like seeing kids being able to do stuff for themselves with parents watching over from a distance but letting them handle it.

Also living here is proving more pony plentiful than 2 years in North London. In the whole of my time there I found one styling size G3 Dash in a charity shop in Highgate. I've been here less than 2 weeks and aside the carboot sale, which I can now get to for free by direct bus, I've already seen 2 BAB AJ plushes in 2 charity shops and yesterday I found a shop which has a designated labelled tub for My Little Pony. They had Starsong (who I bought), Sky Wishes (who I have) and a G3 Pinkie Pie (no thank you). But I will be back in the future.

I had a little red dragonfly sit on me for a bit, during the walk home.

I've just found out that back in the '80s, a robot was arrested by the police; it was just trekking around, offering business cards to people. I love weird little bits of history like that. :D

That robot story is hysterical, thanks for that odd fact.
Congrats on winning!

Found my first retro rainbow pony in the wild this morning, I chose Sky Dancer. The best part was the lady behind me in line. She was so excited to see it and started chatting about how she had them when she was a kid. We had a quick "back in the day" chat.

Its sort of today, as it was early this morning, but when I was about to go to bed, I noticed my PC had not shut down when I told it to. I was annoyed at it, because it's a brat, but while I was waiting for it to do so, I happened to look out of the window.

Just in time to see an urban fox crossing the road and hopping up onto the wall to watch the traffic go by.

I love foxes and there are a lot of urban ones in London, but I don't see them much. I saw one once crossing the railway by where I used to live, and one in an area about 20 mins from here by bus, but this one was right outside my window. So cute <3. So thank you, PC. Because you were a brat, I got to see a little piece of urbanised nature at work.

It's the beginning of my weekend, my feet are feeling better than they have in some time, and the weather has really cooled off, finally. Some even nicer days and nights up ahead, too!

It was a really beautiful morning today, I set off out of the house and saw a load of mist up in the hills up around Macclesfield forest with the sun rising behind them. Then when my bus turned up in Bollington, I sat down in the memorial garden for a bit before work and a huge bird of prey flew overhead! I'm not entirely sure what species it was but it really got the day off to a good start! :D

One of my second year students told the course convener that tutorial on Tuesday was "amazing".

Unexpected student feedback!
I like her already ;)
