So, how do the retro G1 items fit into your overal collection?

Heya peeps! I have a question about the new retro MLP items, where do they "belong" in your collection?

 The reason being I have some bits with the new artwork that I want to add in with my ponies, but it feels wrong putting them in my G1 closet which only has the old ponies and merch.

The G2-G4 closet however also "doesn't feel right" as the artwork is so clearly based on the G1s. I like keeping my collection ordered this way and now these retro items have kerfuffled me haha what do you guys do?

My pony room is organized by generation too, but the closet in there is for special stuff or other "misc." things.  That's where I put the retro stuff.  It isn't G1 and there's a noticeable difference between it and G1 art, but it looks ok in its own little area.

I've given some thought to this too. My all-gen collection is currently in storage, but I'm really hoping I'll be able to display them all soon. I think I'll probably display the retro stuff at the end of its respective generation.

Fit in just fine.  I don't organize by gen however.

I dunno about anyone else but in the case of retro clothing with Gen One art, they get worn...rather than filed...xD

I don't have many retro G1 items, just a couple of the re-releases of the original collectors' pose ponies made for the 25th anniversary. Despite them being made in the G3 era I have them placed alongside my actual G1 ponies.

Well I'm new to pony, so have encountered all the gens almost at the same time, and I like ponies from all the generations to be all mixed up together. 

It just seems and looks right to me that way, and I like it like that.

Um but yes like Taffeta says, new merch with G1 on it gets used.  Which reminds me, I need some more pony shirts and I want g1 this time.

I do have some current stuff and it does get used. I got these cute big party cups I use them everyday. I have like 2 pony Tshirts. I know I should have more but thats all I have at the moment.I probably would just put all the Gens together if I had a pony room. Until then they are all having to stay in containers.
