Whats the weather like where you are?

After a spell of miserably rainy, grey weather... today (and yesterday) has been sunny enough to feel like summer again - short sleeves, a family walk to the park, very pleasant indeed

It's nice! It's been cool and cloudy/rainy enough to pretend it's autumn, and the light has changed now that it's August. I dislike July so much, not just because of the heat, but I hate the ugly light as well. When August comes around, you immediately get that beautiful, warm late summer light that I adore.

It seems we'll get a few hot, humid days next week, but it's only one or two days.

In the low to mid 70s today, overcast with a nice breeze.

It's tricking my mind, which already wants it so badly to be autumn. But it's August. So cruel. 

I'm hoping dearly that we somehow keep the temperatures down and then get an actual autumn this year. (Last year, it was still hitting the mid 80s in mid November.)

It's been relatively warm here but yesterday was warm and muggy until a pretty strong line of thunderstorms rolled through that had an abundance of lightning. Ended with a double rainbow and then a ~20 minute power outage (after causing one earlier too). Back to warm today.

Summer is coming back.

Actually, I'm enjoying it very much so far, the light is gorgeous (especially with the trees changing colours), the air is soft and it smells so nice! But I've had enough heat for the next five years, and I already have a jar of pepernoten (spice nuts) on the table.

It's hot today, but it looks like maybe after today we will see an actual string of highs in the 60s and 70s without returning to the 80s and 90s. I hope.

Plus it's nearly Snowbird season. We'll be wall-to-wall tourists in no time!

The UK had very unusual weather today.

Ophelia was passing from south-west to north-east, crossing over Ireland (battered by the wind storms) and then over northern England/Scotland;

the South-East of the UK and London experienced a red sun and a yellow sky (brought on by particles of Sahara sand blown up from Africa, along with smoke particles from the fires of Portugal, according to some reports) which made for a strange-feeling day as everything outside had a sepia tinge. Twitter was flooded with posts about it! It had that feeling that the sky was going to break out into a gigantic thunder storm, but never did.

It was about 19 degrees C according to my car, much warmer than usual for this time of year, again, warmth blown over from Africa as a side-effect of Ophelia. I expect a lot of cars/trees/houses will have a fine coating of yellow dust over the next few days as the weather settles back to what it should be!

Anyway, with that aside, the weather is FINALLY cooling off, and I think it just might be actually beginning to stick. No 80s in the ten day forecast right now. It's a miracle!

You should come live in Norway then. We had 7 degrees today, and tomorrow it's supposed to drop to 5 degrees. It'll be cold enough to snow soon

That's a little chilly for October, but I certainly would take it!

I would be happiest with autumns where the afternoon temperatures generally range from 45 F (approximately 7C) to 59 F (15C).

Sadly, we can't even stay that cool during Winter.

Today is like the complete opposite of yesterday. Yesterday it was a  beautiful late-summer day. Warm, but not too warm, and a beautiful clear sky. There was even a hint of spring in the air, smell-wise! Today it's dark, stormy and rainy. I like both.
