Definitely not my best work because I'm still getting used to my iPad and the limited app I'm using, but I'm glad to be drawing G1 again!

As a side note -
I am thinking of upgrading my digital drawing tools - what do folks recommend? Do any folks use drawing tablets with a stylus - if so, again, what would you recommend? Is the drawing tablet compatible with Photoshop - if so, what version?

...at the moment I am making-do with MS Paint Dot Net, a wobbly laptop and a minuscule touchpad. Fingers are not so accurate LOL!

I have an ancient edition of photoshop lurking somewhere that could be dug out if needed (although the *free* MS Paint Dot Net is surprisingly good)

At the moment I resort to my trusty pencils and inks then scan my "basic" picture before digitally colouring them in. On the one side it is a fun way to mix media, but then it is a lot of steps to take if I just want to do a small picture!

I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet, the kind I have is no longer being sold because it's really old. But it lasted me eight years, so I'd recommend the brand.

My program I use is FireAlpaca, from what I can gather it's probably the best free program for Mac. I can't say what's best for Windows.

My husband said he had a spare (old) bamboo device in his office that someone used ages ago - so he may be able to sneak it home for me to try out!

I use a bamboo tablet as well (also a really old one, probably around 8 years as well, but still going. the pen is starting to fall apart nwo however), and Photoshop or CLIP Studio paint/Manga Studio. I prefer mangastudio over PS, and if you've ever tried SAI, MangaStudio is fairly close to that one.


I'll try to have a picture in before Feb is over!

Hmmm  I just use GIMP to clean up my digital stuff, but most of my art is traditional.  GIMP is open source so it might work out for you!

lovesbabysquirmy + Shaiyeh, thank you for your info about digital tools! I am waiting for my husband to sneak the bamboo tablet out of his office sometime this week and then give it a try, lol!
