Leafy- What a nice composition! Welcome to the Draw Together!!
gliltterball,I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet, the kind I have is no longer being sold because it's really old. But it lasted me eight years, so I'd recommend the brand. My program I use is FireAlpaca, from what I can gather it's probably the best free program for Mac. I can't say what's best for Windows.
As a side note - I am thinking of upgrading my digital drawing tools - what do folks recommend? Do any folks use drawing tablets with a stylus - if so, again, what would you recommend? Is the drawing tablet compatible with Photoshop - if so, what version? ...at the moment I am making-do with MS Paint Dot Net, a wobbly laptop and a minuscule touchpad. Fingers are not so accurate LOL! I have an ancient edition of photoshop lurking somewhere that could be dug out if needed (although the *free* MS Paint Dot Net is surprisingly good) At the moment I resort to my trusty pencils and inks then scan my "basic" picture before digitally colouring them in. On the one side it is a fun way to mix media, but then it is a lot of steps to take if I just want to do a small picture!
