I know on our ebay if you ship through ebay, they just tally it up and bill you at the end of the month through paypal, so you don't even have to wait until your payment clears. I don't know if that's the case in the US, but it's no excuse to wait for payment if that's the case there too!

Unless there's a disclaimer regarding late/intermittent shipping, don't feel bad for dinging shipping stars - it's what they're there for!

I agree - if they didn't mention in the listing that the shipping time would take that long (some state that they ship once a week as you mentioned, some ship a couple of times a week, but most ship more quickly than that. The listing should give you some idea how soon they should have shipped your item) then they deserve to have their stars dinged. Don't feel bad about it, they were quick enough to ask for payment. If they were delayed in shipping for any reason they should have contacted you to let you know
