International hunting: Searching for Nirvanna on vacation (Italy)

Hi all,

Hard to find any info on this so hoping a friendly soul will help out...  I booked a trip to Italy recently, and it dawned upon me I may have a chance for international G1 pony hunting!! I would love to schedule in some pony hunting into our itinerary but I'm not sure where to look. Are flea markets in Italy a good place to search? Most stuff I read online is focused on vintage clothes. I do not need amazing deals (just don't want to be ripped off) or rare finds (I only have 1 italian!)- just a colorful plastic souvenir. My trip's only Sunday will be in Rome. Does anyone have any suggestions, perhaps a good market? Or, is it not worth my time?

Likewise, has any luck, or made similar time, searching on an international trip? (I imagine it's a little easier for those already in Europe )

Oh my gosh oh my gosh ITALY!

OK! Sorry got a bit excited but you have hit maybe the jackpot of LUCK!
On Sundays in Rome there is a HUGE flea market, maybe 1 mile long at least! Called Porta Portese! You can get there by taking the tram, and its in Trastevere in Rome. You basically just follow the Tiber

I used to go SOOOOO much when I lived there! So this was before I collected vintage toys but they do have everything! I would recommend spending the day there. Get up early - like 7 or 8am and just walk the whole path Bring a backpack, and a snack since maybe cafes are closed on sundays. Also bring lots of cash and get ready to haggle!
