Older Barbies?
« on: December 18, 2016, 08:31:54 AM »
Someone just gave me a bunch of older toys, including Barbies.  I haven't gone through them all yet, but they date back to the 60's.  One is a groom dated 1966.  Are these something someone might want?  Or are Barbies just too common?

Thanks all!

Pictures or a description would help, do they look like vintage Barbies or do they look modern. Do they have bendable legs? Barbie didn't get bendable until 1965.

Pictures would help. Are you looking at the date on the back of the doll/head. That's usually the date the mold was copyrighted and not necessary the date the doll was made. :)

There's a market for barbies, especially older ones. When you get around to pictures, please post them. There's some great resources out there for older barbies more than there are for newer ones 90's-current.

Sorry it's taken me so ridiculously long to get to this.  I finally took cruddy photos because I realized I was never going to get to it otherwise.  Here you go:

Ken Dolls, all say 1983 on the back of their head, all have bendy legs.

2 Barbies, one with pink dress has 1966 on her back does have bendy legs, western one has 1966 on her back also has bendy legs.  I'm not sure what the princess doll is, she says Kenner 1991.

They are all for sale and I'm happy to get better photos or more thorough descriptions if anyone would like.  They all seem to be in great shape, just need a cleaning and their hair styled.  The western hat has a couple of tears in it.

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

I think you would have really good luck with the ken dolls over at evilbay.

As for the other barbies, the one in the middle looks like one of the barbies that came in a barbie/horse set. You could probably get decent for her as well. I don't know the others, sorry.

Ken in the middle is Dream Glow Ken.
Barbie in the middle is Western Stampin Barbie (from the 90s)

According to a google image search, the Kenner doll might be a Miss America doll?

Those are the only ones I can name.  Hope it helps.  :)
