Thank you everyone who I haven't thanked~. I need more TAFs now aaaaaaa.

What is the average price for Night Glider, I have seen it vary.
I by all means am not like an expert, but glancing through sold listings/current listings on eBay when I found this one were from $60+. We certainly won her under that benchmark, lol.

ok thanks, but what makes a pony a "grail"? I see that sometimes people only call super expensive ponies grails, but then there are some that are around 60 dollars. What makes it a genuine "grail"?

IMO, it's subjective? To me, in my situation, $60 or more is really expensive to me. But I think it's also a rarity thing, there were only two live listings when I found her, this one that was at $18 (oh, how I wish that's what it had ended at ) and another with a BIN for $120 or so. And I don't remember finding her a lot on eBay when I was originally collecting. Perhaps someone else has a better insight on the term? Just all I know, to me this is a pony that I had trouble find, at a price in my budget, so that's close enough as a 'grail' for me.

alrighty thanks, I don't have anything that would be considered a "grail" then (I never thought I did in the first place), my most expensive G1 is my near mint applejack that I got for a little over 10 dollars  she may not be rare, but she is adorable  :frolic:

I'm not sure if I'd pay 60 dollars for a G1 pony, but that also depends on the pony.

Yeah, there's very few ponies I'd spend that much on (or that my husband would let me, lol!). But I got Night Glider for $35 shipped, which was lower than the $120 BIN.. so I'm content with that!

That's actually a really good deal, if I saw a Night Glider for that much I might snatch it up, but at the same time, I am not a very serious collector for G1's.

Icicle had a good answer for this, but I just wanted to add that grail status also isn't always about the collector value of a pony, but sometimes can even be a pony that you just never seem to come across, making it harder to find for you even if no one else seems to have trouble finding it lol

Congrats! She is one of my grails too :)

A grail is that pony that you really, really want, doesn't matter if the pony is Cotton Candy or Italian blue Lickety Split :)
