Sealants Other than Mod Podge and Glaze?

I'm just wondering what other options are, and pros and cons.  My spray on matte mode podge is still much shinier than a pony's body is supposed to be.

I have been using Testors Dullcote for years and love it.  My pet custom peeve is shiny ponies.  Dullcote goes on easily, with no running, clumping, or splotching, and with almost no sheen whatsoever.  It is fairly inexpensive (less than $6) and I can seal many ponies with one small can (I do very thin coats though).  I recently picked up a can of Model Masters as well, but have yet to use it. 

I know that a lot of doll customizers/restorers use Mr. Super Clear, but I don't have any experience with it.

ETA:  Forgot to mention that I also use Triple Thick for applications in which I want something to remain "wet" looking, such as eyes or to add depth to a symbol.

I have to say Testors Dullcote is my favorite! I have never had an issue with it drying tacky and it just looks good.

This might be a weird question, but if you spray the Testors Dullcote over an already mod-podged pony, does that help to dull it?  I have a couple of shiny ponies that are annoying me.  Nightlight in particular, that's why she's all covered up in a night gown:  visitors can't see pics , please register or login


I think you can see how shiny she is, even though the photo is small.  She's actually a restore, I painted over several large discolored splotches on her face and I don't like how shiny her sealant turned out.  I'll add the info about this product to my website, I don't want people doing restores and then being disappointed with the results.

I did a custom rapunzel too, and we'll just say she enjoys reflecting moonlight for a hobby.

Your little scenes are always so great, I especially like how your baby ponies have their own little dollhouse...are there to-scale tiny ponies in there that also have dollhouses that have even tinier ponies inside...

Closer to the topic, I have a related question:
If plastic-model Dullcoat has enough flex to be used on ponies successfully, what about Testors model paint?  I'm looking for something a bit more tough and stable than acrylic to airbrush symbols with and was wondering if anyone has tried Testors plastic model paint on soft ponies, and if it holds up on the flexible surface.

I would think that it would help to dull shinny modge podge, but I have no idea the chemical reaction between the two if any and if that would cause any kind of stickiness or texturing. Best to test on a bait first.

I am also not experienced with using other model paint, but testing on a bait should give you  good idea if no one else can provide guidance.

Liquitex is honestly my favorite! It comes in both matte and shiny finishes and you can buy it in spray form or just normal liquid form.
