Mermaids mean a lot to me after my own personal transformation. I was obese for 13 years of my life and thought the weight would never come off. After I lost all the weight I had a moment sitting on a rock finally in front of camera allowing my husband to take a picture of me after a Zumba demonstrations I helped my very first Zumba instructor with. I never liked cameras and always found a way to be cameraman so I wouldn't have to be in the photograph and look at cold harsh reality of my obesity. Sitting on that rock I told hubby I felt like a mermaid and that I finally felt pretty and alive again and happy. I have since then gotten a mermaid tattoo and now I find myself entered into a mermaid contest with photos of me which is something I would never of done as the obese me. I am really hoping to win this competition and ear a new tail for further gym motivation. The contest is open until Thursday night because it is German time.
