My collection on display for the public

One of my pony dreams has come true! From this Saturday people in Christchurch, New Zealand can see all of my ponies and playsets on display at The Toy Collector. I wish I had been given more room because I wanted to display all of the accessories and miscellaneous merchandise I had as well but I only managed to fit in playsets and ponies. For those of you that can't go see it in person here are some photos I took while setting up.

wow what an amazing herd! is that some kind of museum or something? id love to visit some day.. even if you are half way around the world!

Don't really know what to call it, it's a cross between a museum and a gallery. They have all sorts of toys on display from Sylvanian families, barbies, old mercado sets to Star Wars toys. They opened at the beginning of the year and only now have reached the amount they needed to expand and have a space for loan displays. My collection will be up until they get sick of it and my own display space is set up again.

That is so awesome! Would love to do something like that but nothing here would have collections behined glass and I am far too scared some idjit would nick something.

I wish I could go to NZ for 2 reasons: to see this and to visit the where they filmed Lord of the Rings  my favorite book/ movie

Now THIS would be cool. The perfect opportunity to include the general public in my equine hoarding ways. (rubs hands together menacingly)

But yeah, I agree with Gingerbread. If my ponies weren't behind glass or something else, I'd worry myself sick thinking about people touching them all the time and being rough, or damaging them.

So it's happened in the Uk, and now in New Zealand. Come on, America, you're falling behind with the collection public display movement!

Seriously, it looks like a great display. I think people who are willing to display and share their collections like that are super brave, I'd worry about mine a lot if they were out of my care (although technically while I'm here they are sort of in my parents' care...)

Wondermint's collection here was displayed in a museum she had connections to, though, I think, so maybe that made it less scary...

Thanks guys, I really wanted an opportunity to do this and when this place opened at the start of the year I just asked them. I can't wait for them to open and see what people think.

If they weren't behind glass then I don't think I would have done it, like some of you said I'd be way too scared. But the couple that run it understands about collecting as everything in there apart from my collection is theirs.

As for all the ponies, there are around 250 and 99% of them were washed and styled before going on display, they had to look their best. now that was a mission and a half to do.
